7 Secrets of Self-Made Millionaires
By Grant Cardone

Learn how to generate multimillion-dollar wealth -- and enjoy the journey on your way to the top.
First, understand that you no longer want to be just a millionaire. You want to become a multimillionaire.
While you may think a million dollars will give you financial security, it will not. Given the volatility in economies, governments and financial markets around the world, it's no longer safe to assume a million dollars will provide you and your family with true security. In fact, a Fidelity Investments' study of millionaires last year found that 42 percent of them don't feel wealthy and they would need $7.5 million of investable assets to start feeling rich.
This isn't a how-to on the accumulation of wealth from a lifetime of saving and pinching pennies. This is about generating multimillion-dollar wealth and enjoying it during the creation process. To get started, consider these seven secrets of multimillionaires.
No. 1: Decide to be a multimillionaire
You first have to decide you want to be a self-made millionaire. I went from nothing — no money, just ideas and a lot of hard work — to create a net worth that probably cannot be destroyed in my lifetime. The first step was making a decision and setting a target. Every day for years, I wrote down this statement: "I am worth over $100,000,000!"

No. 2: Get rid of poverty thinking
There's no shortage of money on planet Earth, only a shortage of people who think correctly about it. To become a millionaire from scratch, you must end the poverty thinking. I know because I had to. I was raised by a single mother who did everything possible to put three boys through school and make ends meet. Many of the lessons she taught me encouraged a sense of scarcity and fear: "Eat all your food; there are people…...

Born or Made? Wrong Question. Relevant Leaders Are Increasingly Self-Made

...they seem sort of quaint—and frankly, out of touch. Back then, we agreed that leaders could be born or made. We were also familiar with the American ideal of the “self-made”—our society still loves stories about determined boot-strappers who came from nothing and accumulated a ton of dough, a lofty title, or both. But let’s be clear. We were never really talking about something we need more than ever today: self-made leaders. Instead we were talking about self-made billionaires, self-made entrepreneurs, self-made CEOs, self-made NBA and NFL all-stars. People still go from nothing to something out of nowhere, even overnight. Take Mark Zuckerberg, whose Wikipedia blurb identified him as the “world’s 2nd youngest self-made (my italics) billionaire” in 2012. Zuckerberg is also a self-made innovator. As a college kid, he invented one of the most compelling capabilities of our new century, not to mention the world’s most valuable social network. Still, writing about the 2010 movie The Social Network, The New York Times columnist David Brooks took “the character loosely based on Mark Zuckerberg” to task for being “without social and moral skills” largely because he was a product of a “culture reticent to talk about social and moral conduct.” More recently, the real Zuckerberg is making headlines for what by all accounts appears to be an authentic journey toward becoming the type of leader our companies and world so desperately need. As some detractors called for Zuckerberg to step...

Secret River, One's True Self Is Only Revealed in Conflict

...SECRET RIVER ESSAY DRAFT One’s true self is only revealed during conflict Conflict is generally a clash of interests, internally or externally. For this reason, ones true self is revealed only in conflict as in conflict we are revealing a truer self because conflict exposes things that aren’t generally exposed in everyday life as in conflict we become vulnerable, open to feeling and showing all emotions. The real question here is what is our true self? Is it the best that we can possibly be? Or the worse? Conflict is something that is seen everywhere in the world that surrounds us, in our mind and in the many modern novels, such as The Secret River by Kate Grenville. Internal conflict is inside our mind, the struggle between two needs, urges, wants. An internal conflict could be that of a drug user, knowing that the drugs he takes are bad for him and more than likely will end up killing him, but the addiction is telling them that they need to have it. In most cases the internal voice of the addiction wins out. It is there to helps to define us and the life we lead. In the case of the drug user it reveals his true self as weak, unable to have the voice he wants to be heard, heard. Conflict is revealed in the novel Secret River in many ways. One-way is how the Thornhill family live in poverty in London. They had to steal to survive. As a child his best side was revealed with the death of his parents and the sudden responsibility of ensuring the survival of his......

Unit 7 Sandwich Blitz: Self-Managed Teams

...Unit 7 Sandwich Blitz: Self-Managed Teams Jennifer Roache Kaplan University MT 140-06 Unit 7 Sandwich Blitz: Self-Managed-Teams Implementing a self-managed team would be beneficial to Sandwich blitz in numerous ways, and gives Dalman more time to focus on the company. Dalman and Lei should apply short term goals that will lead to long term achievement goals when attempting to incorporate self-managed teams into their company. This should start with the managers and eventually lead to both the managers and supervisors becoming self-managed teams. The first goal toward self-managed teams that Dalman and Lei should implement is forming the location managers into a semiautonomous work group, in charge of production and performing operations at their precise location. Dalman and Lei should provide the location mangers with clear and precise goals to work on. “Self-managed teams can develop quicker or more effective decision-making skills.” (Open University, 2011) The mangers should work as a team to resolve small issues that each are facing amongst themselves, by sharing their strengths and personal experiences on what is and isn’t effective. Self-managed teams can relieve stress for the leader, who is then able to concentrate on other tasks. The team is mutually supportive and members learn from each other instead of approaching the team leader (Dalman) for advice”. (Open University, 2011) By forming the locations managers into a self-managed team capable of resolving......

Millionaire Next Door

...While reading the book The Millionaire Next Door I liked the very first part “Meet the Millionaire Next Door.”(7-25) This part gave a lot of statistics that were found from the author’s surveys. I was always under the opinion, like the majority of people, that a millionaire is somebody that has the huge mansion, inherited money from parents, spent thousands on clothes, etc. That is where I found out I was wrong. The first chapter stated that more than half of the surveyed millionaires have never earned as much as a dollar of inheritance, and less than ten percent of the millionaires thought they would never earn another dollar of inheritance. I liked this chapter for setting the record straight on what millionaires actually are. A section I really didn’t care for in this book and probably disliked the most was the “You Aren’t What You Drive” section. From the chart on page 114 it was clear to me that I didn’t like this part of the book. The average price paid for a motor vehicle seemed to be around 30,000 dollars by these millionaires. I happen to know that there are a lot of very fancy looking vehicles that can be bought at this price. The Chevy Camaro, a really nice pickup truck, the Ford Mustang, the Scion FR-S to name a few. These cars can all be bought brand new or a couple years old for the average price spent by the millionaires surveyed. This section tried to make it seem like the millionaires are driving low quality vehicles when they ranked the top......

The Secret

...THE SECRET by Rhonda Byrne - Reaction Paper The Secret is a book written by Rhonda Byrne, which is known as the best-selling book in 2006. I was amazed when I entered the classroom and found out that we’ll be viewing/watching the DVD about The Secret. I have heard about this documentary since I was in 3rd year college and by this time I finally got the chance to watch a masterpiece. I wanted to watch this since but I never had the chance to because I got so busy with school activities but right now I think I am lucky that I am a part who knows The Secret and I am thankful to know it.  To begin with, The Secret is a life changing, it makes you financially independent, it let your mind powerful and lastly, it will make you successful. The Secret is kept hidden from thousands of people and they let their ignorance spread to people; it was buried, coveted, suppressed and it was never revealed to the public. According to Bob Proctor, a philosopher, the secret gives you anything you want; happiness, health, and wealth. He also said that “we become what we think”, which means whatever we think it predict our future. The law of Attraction is The Secret; what we see, hold, or even our thoughts are equivalent to what we need, want or even demand and it attracts to you. Like what I watched and jotted down, an optimistic thought is a thousand’s more powerful than pessimistic thought. The more you think, the more it will happen because the universe is reacting to what you want;......
