My name is Bikalpa Malla, My students ID is 12063772.
Herewith I am giving my feedback to 3 of my peers.
Amita, Bibush and Bikash respectively. Amita, Overall I think your presentation could have been a ot better.the research you have done was not satisfactory.you failed to mention the majr players in your industry and your research was pnly related to the home country Nepal.Furthermore, you failed to mention then impact on the economy and how it benefits the world .Although, you mentioned how it impacts nepals economy you faied tp prvide any sufficient data to support that statement.
You spent too much time on the history and introduction part of the industry and as a result you missed out on explaining the pestel analysis .The time could also have been better spent on other research topics topics. For these reasons I did not think you showed a clear understanding of the industry and the research done was not satisfactory.
When talking about your suitability you kept lisiting skills without really elaborating on the skills you said you had .yuor summary sheet was also focused heavily on the introduction and the history of the industry when those spaces could have been better utlised for other informations
Nevertheless, You were ready to carry on your prsentaion even when your slides were not with you when we had some technical difficulties , ths shows you were confident while doing your presentation..You were dressed formally and did you presentation professionally. The power point slides were also visible and everything was clear.
In the future,I would recommend you to manage your time better so that you will not missout on any aspects of your presentation. You should also diversify your research and not focus on one ascept of the given tpic. Doing the star nalysis when discussing would have definitely helped. I would also recommend you to rehearse before the presentation so that you can be more fulent. Bibush, overall you presentation was not a very good one. you lacked research on the industry, You failed to mention the major players in the industry wolrd wide and how the economy is affected by it.Your presentation lacked content and there were hardly any datas available and hence I believe you did not do much research on the industry, and although you used the analytical tool there was not much to the content and it felt like you lacked the understanding of the industry.
Again, while suggesting your suitability ot the industry you mentioned the skills you possess but failed yo justity them and explain how it helps you with respect to the industry. Your summart sheet was not satisfactory as it failed to to provide the jist of your presentation and some datas on it were not visible. You also failed to post some of the references at the end of your presentation.
Never the less, you came across as very confident while giving the presentation and the words you spoke were clear and audible although You could have groomed your self better as you kept getting stuck and hesitating during some sentences.Your powerpoint slides were also nice in terms of clarity and visibility.
For the uture, I would recommend you to widen your research and incorporate other aspects in your research, ike in this case, the other countries besuides Nepal.Doing the star analysis could also help you credibility and make you seem more suitable to the industry.I would also adivse you to Rehearse before the presentation so that it can help you In the futre and make you seem better prepared.
Bikash, overall I did not think your presentation was satisfactory even though I liked the research you have done. You presented both the pestel and swot analysis and it was very datailed, You also presented various datas to support your statements and it was very wel presented. You were dressed formally and the powe point slides were nice.
You mentioned some great points on why you are suitable for the industry. Furthermore your summary sheet was excellent and highlighted the main ponts of the presentation. It covered all your power poin topics very nicely.
However, despite having done a good research you failed to show understating of the industry as you were hesitant while explain some aspects of your research like the datas that were presented. Your presentation skills were below par as the words you spoke were not very clear, you moved too fast and hence you were mostly inaudible. You also failed to talk about the major players in the industry through out the world and only focused on Nepal/

For the future, I would recommend you to belouder and more clearer while giving your presentation.Furthermore your research should not be one dimensnal and should focus on the countries all over the world rather than just one country.I would also recommend you to manage your time better so that you get a chance to explain all your lsides and do not have to rush thorugh to th end.…...

Fear of Feedback

...Fear of Feedback Abstract Nobody likes performance reviews. Subordinates are terrified they'll hear nothing but criticism. Bosses think their direct reports will respond to even the mildest criticism with anger or tears. The result? Everyone keeps quiet. That's unfortunate, because most people need help figuring out how to improve their performance and advance their careers. This fear of feedback doesn't come into play just during annual reviews. At least half the executives with whom the authors have worked never ask for feedback. Many expect the worst: heated arguments, even threats of dismissal. So rather than seek feedback, people try to guess what their bosses are thinking. Fears and assumptions about feedback often manifest themselves in psychologically maladaptive behaviors such as procrastination, denial, brooding, jealousy, and self-sabotage. But there's hope, say the authors. Those who learn adaptive techniques can free themselves from destructive responses. They'll be able to deal with feedback better if they acknowledge negative emotions, reframe fear and criticism constructively, develop realistic goals, create support systems, and reward themselves for achievements along the way. Once you've begun to alter your maladaptive behaviors, you can begin seeking regular feedback from your boss. The authors take you through four steps for doing just that: self-assessment, external assessment, absorbing the feedback, and taking action toward change. Organizations......

...essay will discuss that teacher feedback on assessment has long been part of the teaching and learning process and teacher-student relationship at university. Understandably, instructors and learners have a different point of view on feedback. The assessment that students obtain from teacher's modification has been became a great volume of argument in collage across the world(Blair, Curtis, Goodwin &Shields, 2013,p. 66). The essay argues that normally, feedback is valued by both students and teachers, although this is not evident in all situations, or with all types of students and teachers. Further, it is argued that the instructors and students have different views on the value of feedback. The essay also states that although teachers and students form a different perspective on feedback, it is still important for both sides. One of the most powerful factors in learning and achievement is feedback, and this may be why students like feedback. Early research (Hattie & Timperley,2007, p. 15 )reported that feedback is among the most significant......

Feedback

...3. Select a situation which you made a wrong inference. Analyze how the misinterpretation was made and discuss how you might avoid similar misinterpretations in the future. How important is feedback as an aid to avoiding inference problems? There was this one time when the Senior Accounting Processor, my immediate supervisor, asked me to accomplish an office requirement for her. After finishing the task assigned, I submitted the file to her and upon inspection she noticed that I filled up a different form. The form was indeed a necessary requirement to be passed but it wasn’t the one she needed at the moment. Looking back at what happened, the misinterpretation occurred because not one of us asked what the other meant. Both of us deduced that we were thinking of the same thing because we probably didn’t mind the fact that the requirement involved many forms to be filled up. As a result, I completed a form different to the one the accountant urgently needed. Learning from what happened, it would be best to communicate and verify my thoughts on the task before I do it to ensure that we indeed have an understanding. Therefore, I could say that feedback is very important in avoiding miscommunication and inference problems. 4. Describe a situation in which you experienced role conflict or role ambiguity. What caused it? How are the two idea related and how are they different? Role conflict occurs when there are incompatible demands placed upon an employee such that compliance...

Feedback and Opportunities

... Feedback: Important to the evaluation of an employee is the preparation for effective feedback and should include notes or specific details important to the review. If there are complaints to discus, issues about behavior, or performance, schedule enough time to review each subject thoroughly. As this is taking place the employee has enough time to prepare and be comfortable with the meeting. The next important factor in the feedback process is to ask the employee for an interview. Asking shows respect and gives an opportunity for the employee to consider if he or she wants to listen. If the employee decides not to listen another approach must be taken to ensure that the task is completed. Although many managers find the process of feedback distasteful, it is the responsibility of the manager to perform this task in an open and positive manner. The performance and behavior of the individual, when considered, should be assessed with thoughtful consideration for personal development. Avoiding criticism helps, and if there is a problem, setting mutual goals with the employee shows a caring attitude and respect. Also, following up on solution-based objectives if necessary, will benefit the employee and the organization. Opportunities provided for new employees after feedback is given: Adjusting to the new life in an organization can be challenging. After settling in and performing the job duties assigned, an opportunity for feedback......

Fear of Feedback

...Individual Assignment Fear of Feedback by John M. Jackman and Myra H. Strober Human Resources Managment Author: me Instructor: Filipa Castanheiro Grader: Isabel Albuquerque 2 October, 2014 “Being able to access where you are in your company/organization is critical for someone success in his/her career.” Feedback is the key for setting, measuring and evaluating the performance of an organization, it allows a manager to know, what is expected from the unit, to set the right goals for him/ herself and for the employees. There are managers with great relationships with their superiors therefore they receive feedback on a regular basis and use it to improve their performance. But that is not the typical case! In most organizations feedback is merely an annual performance review, there is a two-way of fear that overthrows feedback. In one hand bosses avoid and fear giving feedback, why? It is all about emotional issues: fear of not being liked that subordinate start talking behind their backs; fear of uncomfortable situations - furious employees or tears. Subordinates on the other side are terrified and hate criticism. Psychologists have many theories in why pointing down our imperfections raises such emotions but the truth is as referred before liking it or not feedback is critical for the growth of a professional and well function of a business. Without training, feedback may lead to practice destructive, maladaptive......

Feedback

...The feedback skill of interpersonal communication is beneficial to the workplace as it improves performance by enhancing creativity, promoting trust, and strengthening individual motivation (Baker, Perreault & Reid, 2013). Interpersonal communication can be defined as a type of continuous communication between people, that treat each others as unique individuals. This occurs systematically and throughout this engagement both parties construct and reflect selected personal information to create shared meaning (Wood, 2013). Interpersonal communication occurs when people genuinely reveal who they are and what they feel to each other. The interpersonal skill of feedback helps to create shared meaning by indicating higher responsiveness (Wood, 2013). Eunson (2012) states that feedback is a type of communication response that aims to provide advice and critique to another person supportively. In the workforce feedback can be used constructively to provide information on employees to promote positive change by reflection of performance goals and recent behaviours, this aligns employer performance with the company's objectives (Baker, A & Perreault, D & Reid,A 2013). For feedback to be beneficial in the workplace it must be effective to encourage the receptiveness towards ideas that aim to modify behaviour. The way feedback is delivered alters the receivers perception of the intended messages, the perception of organisational fairness and being treated respectful......

Feedback

...Giving Feedback Keeping Team Member Performance High, and Well-Integrated Watch this video to learn how to give feedback effectively. "Performance review." Does the mere mention of this event make your heart sink? Employees and managers the world over dread this ritual and therein lays the main problem: We have institutionalized the giving and receiving of feedback. We save up our comments and document all the things we note about a person's performance. And then, like a big cat ready to pounce, the manager brings a hapless employee into the office and springs a year's worth of "constructive criticism" onto him or her. No doubt the process is seen as unnerving and fear provoking. And this is exactly the wrong emotional environment in which to discuss performance, introduce suggestions for improvement, and talk about goals for the future. This is a shame, because giving and receiving feedback is some of the most important communication you can engage in with members of your team. When done in the right way and with the right intentions, feedback communication is the avenue to performance greatness. Employees have to know what they are doing well and not so well. For them to really hear your thoughts and suggestions on ways to improve, though, that feedback has to be delivered carefully and frequently. Giving feedback effectively is a skill. And like all skills, it takes practice to build your confidence and improve. The following is a collection of "feedback giving"......

Feedback

...negative, given or received, feedback can be tricky. We shatter some popular misconceptions to guide you. Feedback isn't always easy to give or receive. But it's vital, and timing is crucial. Here are 12 popular feedback misconceptions corrected. Misconception 1: We don't need to worry about feedback, we conduct performance appraisals. Truth: Annual performance appraisals aren't enough. If you've been working unsatisfactorily for 12 months, you're awfully good at doing something incorrectly. And if you've been doing something well for 12 months and no one has mentioned it, your performance appraisal might feel like too little, too late. Performance appraisals should be summaries of everything employees and supervisors have been discussing all year. If you're a supervisor, find ways to provide feedback each week for each person who reports to you-- 52 mini performance reviews a year. Misconception 2: It's not my job to give feedback. Truth: At any company that values continuous improvement, feedback is everybody's job. If your workplace isn't feedback friendly, start a trend. First, praise. Reinforce positive actions and behaviors. Don't forget your boss: Positive feedback passed up the organization can have amazing results. Participate in suggestion programs honestly and enthusiastically. And request feedback on your own performance. Misconception 3: If you're not asked, keep your mouth shut.
