Bus Law-Corporate Compliance Plan

...Corporate Compliance Plan: Riordan Manufacturing Corporate governance can be thought of as the overall umbrella of control and direction under which a corporation operates. Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is “a process, effected by an entity's board of directors, management and other personnel, applied in strategy setting and across the enterprise, designed to identify potential events that may affect the entity, and manage risks to be within its risk appetite and to provide reasonable assurance regarding the achievement of entity objectives,” (BusinessDictionary.com, 2008). Ideal management of risk involves mitigating negative risk while taking advantage of positive risk. The board of directors is responsible for establishing an enterprise risk management philosophy that guides senior management when implementing an enterprise risk management plan for the company. Internal controls are a subset of ERM. “Internal control is broadly defined as a process, effected by an entity's board of directors, management and other personnel, designed to provide reasonable assurance regarding the achievement of objectives in the following categories: effectiveness and efficiency of operations; reliability of financial reporting; compliance with applicable laws and regulations” (COSO, 2008). Internal controls assure accuracy of reporting of information and objectives. To develop a corporate compliance plan for Riordan Manufacturing, the three areas of concern should include the proposal...

Bus 475 Strategic Plan

...Prior to the Grand Opening, there are countless tasks that must be accomplished by a business. The greatest item that must be completed is the planning. When a business spends a great deal of time and effort towards forming a strategic plan, their odds of surviving in the real world are hopeful. My fictional business idea is a Crossfit gym that provides a tremendous workout to people of all ages while focusing on younger kids and older adults. Crossfit is a fitness company founded in 2000 and is much different from most gyms. According to Thurmond (2009), “The prescription for CrossFit calls for three things: constant variation, high intensity and functional movement. By switching up your regular fitness routine, you keep your body constantly guessing the next move. In short, it's the cure for the common workout”. A Crossfit gym involves a great deal of cardio workouts and weight lifting, in a very competitive, yet friendly, atmosphere. Crossfit workouts can be extremely intense, but each workout can bea altered to fit the needs of each person. Whether it is starting at a low weight load, or using bands to be able to do certain workouts, Crossfit can be well-suited for any individual and does not discriminate against gender, age, or skin color. The gym will be known as Crossfit for All and will focus on bringing families closer through Crossfit. Crossfit allows people to be the best they can be in terms of fitness. Different from a regular Crossfit gym, our audience is......

Bus Plan

...------------------------------------------------- CHAPTER 8: BUSINESS PLAN WHAT IS THE BUSINESS PLAN? The business plan is a written document prepared by the entrepreneur that describes all the relevant external and internal elements involved in starting a new venture. It is often an integration of functional plans such as marketing, finance, manufacturing, and human resources. It also addresses both short-term and long-term decision making for the first 3 years of operation. Thus, the business plan – or as it is sometimes referred to, the game plan or road map – answers the following questions: * Where am I now? * Where am I going? * How will I get there? Potential investors, suppliers, and even customers will request or require a business plan. If we think of the business plan as a road map, we might better understand its significance. Let’s suppose you were trying to decide whether to drive from Kumasi in Ghana to Tripoli in Libya (mission or goal) in a car. There are a number of possible routes, each requiring different time frames and costs. Like the entrepreneur, the traveller must make some important decisions and gather information before preparing the plan. The travel plan would consider external factors such as emergency car repair, weather conditions, road conditions, sights to see, available campgrounds, and so on. These factors are basically uncontrollable by the traveller but must be considered in the plan, just as the entrepreneur would......
