2. Does the information in the table indicate any special problems or issues? What do you suggest the company do about them?
Out of the 18 employees that left 13 were female. There a possibiliy that there is discrimination in the compan.
The company should review their hiring/promotion strategies and retrain hiring staff to make a conscious effort to hire females. 3. Should Garden Gate discontinue its tuition-aid program?
No, the company shouldn't discontinue the program because it is a powerful marketing tool that some of their competitors don't have. It would go against their value of treating their employees as investors. 4. Create a plan to improve the retention of tuition-aid recipients.
Information about tuition-aid recepients needs to be included in the skills inventory database. The skills inventory needs to be updated and accurate on a regular basis.
Employees receiving tuition-aid need to be made aware of all positions available.
Names of these employees need to be made available to all hiring staff and supervisors when making a promomotion decision

Garden Gate needs to implement and improve the ways its database it is organize. The HR department needs to be aware of the changes in status of their employees, and more importantly the job openings in every department of the company.

Furthermore, They will need to create a better communication environment between supervisors and managers; they need to know how their employees are doing in case of promotions. I do not think it will be a good idea to discontinue the tuition-aid program, however, I do think it needs improvement.

The company has expanded 12% and they want to continue this pace of growth for at least 5 more years. In order to accomplish that, the company needs to invest on its employees. Should Garden Gate discontinue its tuition-aid program? Create a plan to improve the retention…...

... The tuition aid program is a good thing for the company but their are a few programs affecting it. Firstly, garden gate tuition program does not have an already existing advantage for future internal promotions. The company needs to use the tuition aid program as an incentive for already existing employees as a way of getting a higher chance of being promoted. This means that the employees that take part in the program should be highly considered over other employees for promotion positions because of their efforts and it would also motivate employees to take part and do well in the program. Secondly, their should be some sort of list or database of employees that have taken part in the tuition aid program so that they can be easily recognized and distinguished among other general employees. Thirdly, many supervisors do not regularly review the internal job postings which means that many of the company's HR professionals in-charge would have no idea about the internal job postings to start with, know who to nominate and the exact positions oped for promotions which is what the tuition aid program should be good for. Fourthly, the information in the database is outdated or incomplete, so the HR professionals wouldn't know who among the employees have completed the tuition aid program and graduated and who hasn't.
