Create a PowerPoint presentation to be given to your class and your instructor. The topic for this presentation will be the key items that are necessary to know about the AIU portal to be successful in class. The Virtual Campus has many exciting and important features to enhance a student's learning experience. This includes the following: * Announcements * Live Chat * Discussion Boards * Individual Projects * AIU e-mail
Your PowerPoint presentation will present each of these topics and demonstrate how each is used by students. Not only should you describe them; you should also explain when and why you might use each one of these items in the virtual classroom environment. Indicate to your schoolmates the advantages of each of these and how often they might check or use each of these features.
Include each of the following features in your presentation: * Clip Art * A media clip (animated graphic, movie, or sound clip) * A transition effect (choose Slide Effect from the Transition tab) * A fade-in effect (a sentence or object can fade into the presentation)
You can choose where you use them, but make sure to use each one at least one time.

...Week Seven CheckPoint: Other Uses for Microsoft PowerPoint Dwayne L. Wright, Sr. PC Applications Support / IT 206 October 5, 2012 Ms. Edythe Doe People love a show but they also hate a long boring one. No matter the audience, topic or setting the idea is to keep the spectators attention from beginning to end; with the expectation of generating a dialogue when it’s over. Microsoft’s PowerPoint has the tools to get the job done. Creating a presentation isn’t as difficult as some may think. By following a few steps anyone can create a show that will impress with images, pictures and other visuals that can be animated with sound and other affects while successfully delivering a hard to forget message. Although versatile enough to transform any moment or information into a visual cornucopia, the process is time consuming. To begin, schedule and reserve time to complete the project in a timely fashion with allotment for previewing and editing. Gather and have all your information together and organized; message, graphics and other objects. PowerPoint offers several pre-formatted thematic options with background and orientation, text, font size, type \ style; and color scheme that help guide the content and format to the end. “Professionally designed standard layouts help you save time by formatting and creating content. You then can modify these layouts to create custom slides to fit your specific needs”(Gary B. Shelly, Thomas J. Cashman, Misty E...

Effective Powerpoint

...PowerPoint for a Powerful Presentation PowerPoint is an excellent resource for presenters. If used well, it can help to organize and communicate complex information, clearly and concisely. PowerPoint is designed specifically for use during live presentations. Therefore, the design considerations are fundamentally different to those for print or web. Colours, font size, and layout should be quite different for a live presentation. You may ask, “Why use PowerPoint?” Well by using powerpoint it helps to grasp attention amongst the audience, guide discussions, help to tell a story and support message delivered. Having effective slides consist of using design templates, standardize position of text and /or images, and the contrast of colours and styles. Do not forget to include only necessary information. Be sure to limit the information to essentials and that the content is self-evident. Be consistent with effects, transitions and animation but, be careful, too many slides can lose your audience. For an effective presentation be sure that the layouts of the slides are simple and uncluttered. If you wish, there can be a single title line, and/or a small graphic of some sort. Otherwise, the slide area should be available for your text. Do not extend your text area to the very edges of the slide. Make sure the audience are able to see your text and the layout chosen are not clashing together. As shown here. The wrong choice of text and background colours can make your...

Microsoft Powerpoint & Prezi

...presentation software, Microsoft PowerPoint has long been the industry standard for presenting information to the masses. However, in 2009 a company based out of Budapest launched Prezi, cloud-based presentation software as an alternative to the well-established Microsoft product. Although both programs were exclusively designed as presentation software, there are some differences between the two that will be highlighted in the subsequent paragraphs. PowerPoint, a slide-based program developed by Microsoft, is presentation software that consists of a number of individual pages or slides. Prezi is a cloud-based presentation software tool that allows the user to create a presentation using a large, blank page instead of traditional slides. The distinguishing feature of this software is its zooming user interface which enables users to zoom in and out of their presentation media. PowerPoint is offered as part of a software package that has to be uploaded on a computer. Prezi, on the other hand is a free web-based, assessable program that is offered online and as a download for computer desktops. PowerPoint is a linear-based application that uses multiple slides to present information, almost acting as a teleprompter when the user is presenting information. Prezi is a non-linear application that uses panning and zooming features that tend to give it more of a cinematic feel as opposed to the traditional slideshow format of PowerPoint. When using PowerPoint, text......

PowerPoint allows users to present through whatever number of slides is required to present all of the information that is found. If the user has data or number they wish to present instead of just typing numbers PowerPoint allows the user to input these numbers into various charts, and graphs to give the audience a better view of this information. Powerpoint Presentation

...CHAPTER I Introduction Background of the Study This study investigates whether PowerPoint presentations improve student’s learning and attitudes compared with traditional classroom presentations. While the use of PowerPoint and multimedia in the classroom has significantly increased globally in recent years (Connor and Wong, 2004; Bartsch and Cobern, 2003), few studies have systematically investigated its impact on student learning and attitudes. Rebele et al. (1998) note that little research exists regarding integration of technology in the accounting curriculum, and suggest that accounting researchers should examine whether technology improves learning. One study that has examined the relationship between multimedia and student learning and attitudes was conducted by Butler and Mautz (1996). In a laboratory experiment conducted during a 30-minute time period, they found that multimedia did not affect student recall in all situations. Butler and Mautz did find an interaction between the effects of the multimedia presentation and the student’s preferred class representation style (i.e., whether the student was considered a “verbal” or “imaginal” learner). To improve the quality of learning in our schools using multimedia is very effective in the teaching learning situation. It benefits the students to grasp information easily, to understand as much information as possible, to retain information longer and to gain knowledge that is observable and measured. Literally,......

...may be used to try to align the interests of agents with principals and to allow principals to measure and control the behaviour of their agents and reinforce trust in agents. Remuneration packages and incentives for agents can provide an effective mechanism, as can the market for corporate control and hiring and firing by the board of directors. Typically, the less trust there is in an agent the more likely it is that principals will opt for certain performance-related pay measures and incentives that will align interests. In such scenarios the basic salary is likely to be set at a relatively low level, but it would go hand in hand with a package of other benefits which might include bonuses and share options. Such mechanisms, however, create potential new agency problems related to the measurement of performance. Duties can be written into contracts and made the subject of enforcement and penalties or an alternative is to embody the duties of agents in statute (and introduce sanctions for those who do not comply), such as duties placed on directors under company law. ...many other possible things. When change takes something away that is important, some kind of resistance may arise. When the workforce is engaged with change they will support it. When they are not they will resist it. If we know how to engage the workforce we will do so and experience the amazing feeling of working with the workforce instead of against them. If we don’t know what to do to allow the workforce to engage we will continue to look for lists like this for the things that we can do to prevent them from resisting what someone else wants to do to them, change. Engagement is not something that we do to others to achieve an end. Engagement is the way that people feel about what they do, and we can’t change that. What we can do is to create the environment that will allow them to engage, then they will choose to engage for themselves, we can’t make them engage. Summing it up, the change that should be implemented must first be of benefit to both the management or the company and its workforce or employees. If it is and the employees resist it, they either don't understand the whole concept of the change or they are simply resistant to change by nature. Either way, talking about it will do no wrong hence it is very important for the management of the company to make it sure that the entire workforce gets to know about the details of the change as early as possible. In fact, it is better to let them know before the change is implemented if it is necessary. ......

Powerpoint Errors

...Diagnosing Plugin Errors One of the biggest causes of the PowerPoint application to crash is third party plugins. These are programs installed to enhance the PowerPoint experience by adding additional features or giving the user more options in the design of their presentations. As these programs were not written by Microsoft, the compatibility with your version of PowerPoint may not be stable enough and cause the application to fail to load files or even start up. Troubleshooting Plugins in PowerPoint The best way to troubleshoot problems with plugins is to start PowerPoint in safe mode and block the plugins from loading one at a time until the problem plugin is found. To do this you will first load PowerPoint into “safe mode”, this can be done by using the “windows key +R” to bring up the run menu and typing in “powerpnt /safe’. When PowerPoint loads the words (safe mode) will appear in the middle of the title bar. The plugins can be found in the File tab under the Options settings in the Add-Ins category. This will list the plugins that are installed, to disable one click the drop down menu at the bottom of the window and select COM Add-Ins then click the “Go” button, this will bring up a window that will allow you to uncheck plugins you wish to disable. Supporting Alternatives If the steps for disabling plugins prove to be too complicated for someone the next best solution is to return PowerPoint to its post installation state. To do this you will want to......

...Personal Philosophical Approach PowerPoint Presentation Michelle Williams University Of Tampa Personal Philosophical Approach Cover Page Audio. Hello, Professor Toole, the subject I have chosen to discuss is a personal philosophical approach. I have chosen this topic based on two significant business concepts. First and foremost is that everyone has their own and unique approach. The second concept is that this approach is used every day throughout one’s life. This presentation is based on two articles that subjects relate to the other. Objectives . This presentation will go over what I identified to be the two articles main objectives. The first objective is to identify one’s moral compass. The next objective is to identify one’s code of ethics, and lastly identify one’s cultural ethic background. In the following slides, I will discuss each objective in more detail to give you a greater understanding. Overview Audio. The two articles challenges readers to think about their personal philosophical approach. Some of the questions that one should think about is what exactly is your ethical philosophy? One can answer this question by evaluating where they received their moral compass. Another thought-provoking question is why do everyone’s values differ from each other? One can answer this by observing their cultural influences. Moral Compass Audio. In this slide, I will discuss moral compass. What exactly is a moral compass?......

...Section 2 introduces the prototypical anatomy of closed-world, binary-transforming metamorphic malware. This anatomy is used to structure our model of the design space for such metamorphic malware. This space is outlined in Section 3. Section 4 lays out the design space by traversing through the anatomy and listing options designers have for implementing their goals, drawing implications and tradeoffs arising from these options along the way. Section 5 concludes the paper by summarizing the advantages of the structure, and by listing directions for future work. 2. Prototypical anatomy of metamorphic malware The classes of design options available to a malware author are related to the logical structure of the metamorphic programs they create. Thus, in order to organize a presentation of design choices, this logical structure must first be described. Our model of the anatomy of a prototypical closed-world, binary-transforming metamorphic engine is constructed as an analogue to Singh’s anatomy of a computer virus (Singh 2002). It is more granular than that introduced by Lakhotia et al. in (Lakhotia, Kapoor et al. 2005), however. The anatomy of a metamorphic engine identifies functional units (or organs) which are conceptual units of tasks that must be performed by the engine but are not required to be implemented as modules or functions. Figure 1, adapted from the model of Lakhotia et al. (Lakhotia, Kapoor et al. 2004), depicts our simplified model of the anatomy. The......
