Communicating Effectively Worksheet
Answer the following questions, using information from this week’s readings. Respond to each question in 100 to 200 words.

1. Briefly explain the five choices speakers can make. How do these elements determine a speech’s success or failure?
The five choices a speaker can make in a speech are invention, arrangement, style, delivery, and memory. Invention produces materials through research and judgment while arrangement shows how the information researched is organized. The style shows how the speaker presents the information or makes the speech memorable for the audience. Delivery is presenting the information in way that is not just talking to the audience but with them for instance making sound more on their level or making interactive where they can participate. Last is memory which help the audience remember the speech after it is over. Making the right choices with these elements would determine if a speech is successful because each element give the speaker the opportunity to adapt to the audience’s needs.
2. What role does the delivery method (e.g. online, video conferencing, face-to-face, conference room) play in constructing a presentation?
The delivery method depends on how to the speaker will give the speech. I think a face to face delivery would helps relax the speaker in this instance because there are only one pair on the person. In a larger group like a conference the speaker as many people paying attention to him or her and what the speaker has to say. Whereas if you the speaker decides to record the speech they time to practice and redo it until it where the speaker is happy with the end product. Video conferencing still allows the speaker the opportunity to practice but he or she does not have the ability to feel the audience because the only audience is the camera.

Ethical Worksheet

...University of Phoenix Material Ethical Worksheet Sample Incident Review 1. What is the ethical issue or problem? Identify the issue succinctly. The moral agent is a criminal defense attorney. The attorney knows of another criminal defense attorney who is an alcoholic and ignores his client obligations. What should the moral agent do? 2. What are the most important facts? Which facts have the most bearing on the ethical decision presented? Include any important potential economic, social, or political pressures, and exclude inconsequential facts. The attorney often appears in court intoxicated. He ignores his cases and does not file appropriate motions before deadlines expire. His clients, who are court-appointed, usually end up with convictions and heavy sentences due to his incompetence. In trial, he is unprepared and unprofessional. Defendants have complained. Defense attorneys, prosecutors, and judges are aware of his incompetence and have done nothing. The attorney’s disbarment would likely cause drastic economic consequences for the attorney. If the moral agent is responsible for his disbarment, the moral agent may face the social stigma and pressure of being labeled a snitch. With emphasis on stiffer penalties for defendants, there is political pressure to ignore the situation, as only alleged criminals are affected by his incompetence. 3. Identify each claimant (key actor) who has an interest in the outcome of this ethical issue. From the perspective of......

Of the eight different Intelligences, this paper will focus on only three, Intrapersonal, Verbal-Linguistic, and Visual-Spatial). This paper will attempt to explore how individuals with each of these intelligences can effectively communicate within a group environment, and will also explore the different personality types and how individuals with these personality types can effectively communicate and contribute to any team or group. How to Communicate Effectively With Any Learning Style A Harvard University professor named Howard Gardner discovered in 1983 that there are at least eight intelligences that everyone possesses, but he also stated that some intelligences are more or less developed than others...

Communicating Effectively

...What I have learned from the Communicating Effectively Module The main focus of the studies in this module was the Myers Briggs Type Indicators. These indicators describe the way in which different people think and approach the world. It tells us that each one of us has preferences from the four descriptors giving a possible 16 personality types, Extraverted/Introverted, Sensing/INtuitive, Thinking/Feeling, Judging/Perceiving. After reading through descriptions of each type, I assessed myself as having an ISFJ type. However, when my results arrived from the MBTI Test completed online, my results were an ESTJ type. Upon reading into the characteristics I questioned whether I was really an extrovert as I have always thought of myself as shy and reserved. The traits of an extravert are those who are energised when they talk though tasks with others and prefer to act after doing so. They enjoy the company of others especially if discussions and projects are in an area of common interest. I originally chose the Feeling type as I consider myself a people person; however I also like to be objective and to look at things logically and debate the issues. After this further analysis, I decided the ESTJ type better described me. Since I have read about the different personality types, I feel it will help me with how to better communicate with work colleagues. When communicating with other extroverts, one should aim to do so face to face. If in groups allow interaction,......

...DNA Worksheet REVISED Part1: Basic structure of DNA The nucleotide bases of a DNA consists of specific codes and particular strands of this codes are known as the genes. The genes codes for a particular protein which eventually be a specific trait. The pairing of the base in a DNA molecule is very specific. Adenine usually pairs with Thymine while Guanine normally pairs with Cytosine. A segment of a gene from DNA usually gives the necessary directions to build a RNA molecule and eventually translated into a protein (Simon, Reece and Dickey, 2010). Reason why DNA is referred to as a protein recipe DNA is referred to as a protein recipe because its molecules are made up of amino acid proteins which are in form of a long strand. The DNA structure is composed of codons. Basically, the DNA codes for RNA codon or a transcription which is used to form proteins which is the translation of the codon. Each group of tri-codons are then read by the ribosomes where for each group of 3 such codons, there is an amino acid. These amino acids are then bound together to make a protein chain. The complexity of a protein depends on the number and type of chains (Simon, Reece and Dickey, 2010). Part 2: Differences between DNA and RNA DNA is used for long-term storage of genetic information, transmission of genetic information so as to make other cells and new organisms and to transfer the genetic code to the ribosomes from the nucleus to manufacture proteins. On the other hand, RNA is......
