The Elijah Heart Center has been according to their financial statement struggling, which has been caused by capital shortages, funding options and their capital expansions. In order to ensure that the overall organization will have enough funds to properly operate it is important that the heath care organization understand how to make the appropriate changes. This paper will go over and take look at the accounting data for the Elijah Heart Center to understand what changes and adjustments can be made to help the organization become more financially stable. When looking at organizations and how they may be able to cut cost, unfortunately sometimes these changes may involve reducing the number of employees or even reducing benefits to have a balanced budget. One must analyze the pros and cons of the decisions that will not only affect the budget but may also affect how the organization operates and even patient care. The recommendation along with a detailed explanation from what was discovered in the simulation are as fallowed. First focusing attention on the capital shortage within Elijah Heart Center. The corporation is unfortunately suffering capital shortage due to what the overall organization is bringing in as revenue is far less compared to the number of employees hired along with receiving large income for many of them. ...natural monopoly sell at a cheaper price than any combination of two or more other companies because they are more efficient. Finally, Monopsony is when a firm only has one single buyer (Government). Companies that fall under the category of perfect competition are subject to economic forces that are uninterrupted by anything. What determine pricing are supply and demand trends. Being that there isn’t differentiation in product, sellers aren’t able to charge what they choose and substitute products become available to the seller. It is widely assumed that buyers have the vital information readily available and barriers to entry don’t exist. Companies like this will maximize their profits. Regardless if the market has demand curve, individual companies have perfect horizontal price curves (there units that are sold are very sensitive to price change). Companies that are in the perfect competition category don’t make long-term profits so they will produce until there’s zero profit left. If they produce till marginal cost falls short of marginal revenue, they will accrue major losses. Now in the case that marginal revenue exceeds the average total price, it’s losing potential revenue that it could have made if it had indeed produced more. (Baker, 2003) Companies categorized as oligopoly often controls fewer resources. They also create several barriers to entry by using market expertise, pricey technology and brand equity. These companies are competing on thin......

...Week 4 Individual Assignment Erwin O. Raymer III PSY/315 Jan. 13th 2014 Jennifer Lapin Week 4 Individual Assignment The five steps of hypothesis testing consist of the following. Restate the question as a research hypothesis and a null hypothesis. This is where an individual would make a research hypothesis, which is basically a prediction intended to be tested in a research study. This prediction is usually based on the researcher’s theory. A null hypothesis is the opposite of the research hypothesis. If the null hypothesis is found to be true then it is not possible for the research hypothesis to be relevant. Same goes for if the research hypothesis is true then the null hypothesis is unable to be relevant as well. Determine the characteristics of the comparison distribution. In the hypothesis testing process you want to find out the probability that you could have a sample score as extreme as what you got if your sample was from a population with a distribution of the sort you would have if the null hypothesis were true. That is in the hypothesis testing process, you compare the actual samples score to this comparison distribution. Determine the cut off sample score on the comparison distribution at which the null hypothesis should be rejected. (Critical value) Ideally, before conducting a study, researchers set a target against which they will compare their results. How extreme a sample score they would need to decide......

...was not formed as a contract and neither party signed in agreement. 2. What facts may weigh in favor of or against Chou in terms of the parties’ objective intent to contract? The fact that an oral agreement was reached at a meeting and an e-mail stating the intent to contract was sent may weigh in favor for Chou but the fact that a written contract was never drawn nor signed weighs against Chou. 3. Does the fact that the parties were communicating by e-mail have any impact on your analysis in Questions 1 and 2 (above)? The fact that the parties were communicating through e-mail does have an effect on my analysis because it showed a written intent to contract however no actual contract was signed and agreed upon by both parties. 4. What role does the statute of frauds play in this contract? The statute of frauds does not play any role in this contract because it requires a signed writing for contracts for the sale of goods totaling $500 or more and no signed contract existed in this case. 5. Could BTT avoid this contract under the doctrine of mistake? Explain. Would either party have any other defenses that would allow the contract to be avoided? BTT could avoid this contract under the doctrine of mistake because Chou could have mistaken the e-mail as a contract. In this case, no written signed contract existed, therefore there was no contract. 6. Assuming, arguendo, that this e-mail does constitute an agreement, what consideration supports this......

Behavioral and Social Cognitive Approaches to Forming Habits - Individual Assignment - Week 4

...Behavioral and Social/Cognitive Approaches to Forming Habits Individual Assignment – Week 4 Deborah Watson PSY 250 05/26/14 Habits as defined by Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary, is a settled tendency or usual manner of behavior or a behavior pattern acquired by frequent repetition or physiologic exposure that shows itself in regularity or increased facility of performance. In this paper we will analyze one of my habits, how, who, and where it was developed. Also we will discuss if I continue the habit, and have I attempted to break the habit. Using behavioral personality theory and components of social/cognitive theory, I will explain why I have this habit and why the habit was formed. We will also develop a plan applying operant conditioning to change my habit and discuss which theory best explains my personality, behavioral or social/cognitive theory. First we will start by explaining both theories. The social cognitive theory explains that behavior is learned by watching others do things, using the school of thought that since others are doing this behavior, one should also do this behavior to be like their peers, learning that behavior by witnessing the actual act. One example of this would be a sister and brother are playing with a new toy that requires a certain pattern of movement like a Slip N’ Slide. The first sibling runs and slides down the Slip N’ Slide on their stomach. The 2nd sibling observes the act, not wanting to be out done by sibling #1,......

...650 INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENTS AND INFORMATION This detailed syllabus describes the two individual papers that you write for the class. It also expands on what is involved in class participation, for which you get an individual grade. Detailed instructions for what to prepare as you do the readings for each week appear in the Course Schedule. Also note that the Course Schedule shows additional individual deliverables that you may need to bring to class each week (such as the cognitive style self-assessment that you bring to class early in the semester). Since much of the class involves reflection on your own and others actions in the team and individual behaviors, students find it helpful to keep a weekly journal for notes on your own learning, your self-assessment of your role in the team, and key incidents in the team. These journals are private and for your use only but cab provide well-grounded and concrete “data” for your team assessment and improvement paper and are therefore encouraged. ...the four choices that we decided to include in our corporate portfolio they all turned out to be good solid choices, which was demonstrated during the economic downturn. The noticeable misstep is the fact that we included two technology companies (Transconduit and Desktop Inc.) which is probably not the best choice. Because technology companies are usually the first to recover after an economic downturn has stabilized our portfolio was able to recover well. The effects of the economic downturn were minimized by the inclusion of stocks such as Levinthal Defense System’s and Goldstein & Delaney Bank. Historically during times of economic downturn there has been increased military activity which translates into increased defense spending. (4) Overall we made some great choices, however there was room still left for additional diversification in our portfolio. The Sharpe Ratio Utilizing the Sharpe ratio allowed us to identify and choose investments that have historically performed well, this information proved to be accurate and beneficial in helping to choose risks that were nearly free of volatility. The Sharpe ratio also helped us in identifying risks that were worth taking specifically in the case of Transconduit which had a high Sharpe ratio and turned out to be a solid performing investment. Project evaluation is a method to assure that every party involved within the project sticks with the objective until it is completed, and guarantee that precise expectations are met. Being Huffman Trucking’s evaluator, our company concentrates in certain aspects such as work authorization, project control, performance analysis, project cost, scheduling, and budgeting. Week 4 Individual Assignment As projects are completed, evaluations would still be ongoing bi-monthly in order to continuously and appropriately maintain the company’s new system. These bi-monthly evaluations are not done as a precautionary method or early detection but as well as keeping the operation smoothly running (Westat, 2002). Every department or section of Huffman Trucking along with its headquarters would undergo the evaluation process through a bottom to top system.
