Bill Clinton

...After serving ten years as the Governor of Arkansas, Bill Clinton became eager to pursue his high school dream of becoming President of the United States. During his governing years, Clinton came up new strategies, ideas, and campaign methods to be used for a much larger opportunity. In 1991, he announced he would be running for the 1992 Democratic presidential nomination. Clinton believed that America’s future was in jeopardy and he had the solutions and answers to get it back on track. He began gaining popularity early from his views on the national health care system, a tax cut for the middle class, a reduction of the deficit, and a new welfare system. Clinton’s popularity is still evident today after delivering what many considered to be the best speech of the 2012 Democratic convention. Surely, Mr. Clinton must have done something right during his presidency to have the privilege of endorsing President Barack Obama at the biggest convention of the year. Bill Clinton’s presidency all started in 1992, when a large margin separated him from his rivals as the Democratic presidential nominee. He ran against George H.W. Bush who was an easy target after Bush raised taxes and led the economy near a recession. Clinton used that to his advantage and focused majority of his campaign on strengthening and rebuilding the American economy. On November 3, 1992, his campaign efforts paid off and Bill Clinton was elected the 42nd president of the United States. Clinton’s first years......

The Clinton Administration

...* THE CLINTON ADMINISTRATON’S OWN VIEW Whatever we might think of the reasoning Greenspan used in convincing Clinton that deficit reduction was an essential policy goal, it still remains a fact that deficits were reduced and (briefly) turned into surpluses over the eight years of the Clinton Presidency. In January of 2001, the Council of Economic Advisers made the following argument: The Omnibus Budget and Reconciliation Act of 1993 was the right policy package at the right time … long-term interest rates remained stubbornly high. … Bond yields were being predictably affected by the forces of supply and demand: the Federal Government was set to run a deficit of almost $300 billion … With an oversupply of government bonds and the prospect of even more to come, bond and stock prices were depressed, and yields were correspondingly high… In 1992, the new Administration was elected on a promise to turn the deficits around. After a tough political battle in 1993, the Administration was able to deliver on that promise … The markets responded quickly to this serious effort to address the deficit by lowering expectations of future inflation, and long-term interest rates accordingly fell…. As economic growth and further restraints on spending … turned the huge deficits into surpluses, a new fiscal environment emerged. The 10-year Treasury rate fell below 6 percent in 1998 and 1999… that rate stood at only 5.7 percent in November 2000. … Ultimately, the combination of......

Bill Clinton Speech

...Criticizing Bill Clinton Speech Essay “If a President of the United States ever lied to the American people he should resign” William J. Clinton,1974 Introduction: Critics should pay a very special attention to the Bill Clinton apology speech. The speech of the ex-president Bill Clinton was a bright example of how perfect rhetoric techniques might fail to deliver the message of a president to a mass audience if it goes about his morality. In his speech, Clinton, actually confesses he had a private relationship with Monica Lewinsky. It is a rule that such a confession and especially from a person of the highest position in the society means the end of the career. It took William Jefferson Clinton seven month to realize that people need apologies not for the deed, but for the lies. A close look at the speech opens a wide range of elements did not manage to make it truly appealing for the citizens of the United States of America. In his speech, Mr. Clinton admitted he did a wrong thing and at the same time he did not truly show how much he regretted that his “misbehavior” lead to irreversible consequences in his private and political life. The key failure of the speech is that Mr. Clinton moved the accent away from the affair he had to the necessity to concentrate on more important things. In other words he told the society that they are stuck on unserious matters, while important political events are taking place. Bill Clinton’s goal was to make people get over the......

Hillary Clinton

...IS HILLARY CLINTON preparing a run for the White House? Before pondering that timely question, consider another which may matter just as much. Why would any Democrat want to become president in 2016? Mrs Clinton is certainly giving people cause to ask the first question. Before too long, she will need to answer the second. On September 14th she headed to Iowa for the first time since her wounding defeat by Barack Obama in that state’s 2008 Democratic caucus. The former secretary of state, senator and First Lady made her return in a friendly, controlled setting. Accompanied by her husband, Bill, she was the guest star at the Harkin Steak Fry, a combined picnic, fundraiser and clan gathering for fans and friends of Tom Harkin, Iowa’s Democratic senator and an old-school New Deal populist. No national politician heads to Iowa on a whim. Winning Iowa’s first-in-the-nation presidential contest does not sew up the nomination. But losing Iowa badly (in 2008 Mrs Clinton came third behind Mr Obama and John Edwards, a caddish lawyer) can derail a campaign built round inevitability. Senator Harkin tried to consign that rejection to history, calling the Clintons America’s “comeback couple” and, to Iowa Democrats, “family”. Mr Harkin is retiring after 40 years in Congress. The Clintons were at pains not to overshadow their host. They used his-and-hers speeches to heap praise on Mr Harkin, bash Republicans and urge Democrats to vote in November’s mid-term elections. The lovely setting,......

...An essay on Bill CLinton In this essay I will consider the social, economic and political factors of Bill CLinton. Underestimate Bill CLinton at your peril. Indispensable to homosapians today, it is yet to receive proper recognition for laying the foundations of democracy. It is an unfortunate consequence of our civilizations history that Bill CLinton is rarely given rational consideration by those most reliant on technology, who form the last great hope for our civilzation. In the light of this I will break down the issues in order to give each of them the thought that they fully deserve Social Factors While some scholars have claimed that there is no such thing as society, this is rubbish. When blues legend 'Bare Foot D' remarked 'awooooh eeee only my dawg understands me' [1] he failed to understand that if one seriously intends to 'not judge a book by its cover', then one must read a lot of books. Both tyranny and democracy are tried and questioned. Yet Bill CLinton raises the question 'why?' Nothing represents every day life better than Bill CLinton, and I mean nothing. If society has a favourite child, it is Bill CLinton. Economic Factors Derived from 'oikonomikos,' which means skilled in household management, the word economics is synonymous with Bill CLinton. We will study the Greek-Roman model. For those of you unfamiliar with this model it is derived from the Three-Amigos model but with greater emphasis on the outlying gross national......

Chantale and Clinton

...CHANTALE AND CLINTON CALL FOR SERVICE THE RILEYS On the evening of July 5, 2007, the Rileys were sitting around their dinner table reminiscing about the events of the past few weeks. Early in February, the Rileys had bought a new compact refrigerator which had started to malfunction. They had subsequently called the vendor’s repair service and had received extremely poor service. They were now wondering what they should do. Should they do nothing and treat the poor service as an isolated incident? Should they walk away vowing never to deal with this particular retailer and the brand? Should they write to the retailer, complain about the service and demand some form of apology or compensation? Or was there something else that they could do? Underlying all of these questions was the issue: Was it worth the trouble? Chantale and Clinton Riley were two professional consultants: Chantale worked as an accountant and Clinton was a financial advisor. Clinton was 60 years old and Chantale was 56 years old. They had met each other while at university in the 1970s and had been living in Montreal since 1980. They resided in Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, one of the boroughs of Montreal. They had two children: a boy, 23 years old, who had just completed a bachelor’s degree at McGill University, and a girl, 18 years old, who had just completed her first year of CEGEP.1 All members of the family were completely bilingual in English and French. In fact,......

...qualities it takes to be a great effective Christian leader one will begin to learn more about themselves and their own personal relationship with God. This was one of the lessons discovered while reading the book written by Robert Clinton entitled The Making of a Leader: Recognizing the Lessons and States of Leadership Development. In his book, Clinton does a great job at teaching readers the important lessons of what it takes to be a leader. While the book gives information on what it takes to be a leader it is also good for providing the instructions on how to recognize the growth process one experiences as they transition from a role of a follower to that of a leader. In efforts to better explain leader development and how Christian leaders must recognize lessons in life, Clinton develops a model that is based on research he has conducted on several Christian leaders to include A.W Tozer and Dawson Trottman. From the lives of these exceptional Christian leaders, the author uncovers five different phases of development that leaders experience while growing within themselves and maturing. In the first three of the five, sometimes six, phases it is important for readers to understand that “God’s work is primarily in the leader, not through him or her” (Clinton 2012 p.45). The first initial three phases, the sovereign foundations phase, inner-life growth phase and ministry maturing phase, were created to all the leader to form a foundational structure for themselves, where......

...Hillary Clinton was born in Chicago, Illinois, where she once was a small business owner as a homemaker. Clinton was raised in a Republic family and faithfully attended Sunday school at her local Methodist church. She graduated from high school in 1965, and then went to Wellesley College. After graduating with her Political Science Degree on May 31, 1969, she received a seven-minute standing ovation for reaching her Academic goals. My knowledge of Hillary Clinton was that she was Bill Clinton’s wife, a senator, and that she campaigned to once be President. The reason I picked Mrs. Hillary Clinton, I know she is re-running to be our next president. I wanted to learn more about her as a person, because didn’t want to go in voting just picking her because she will make history like Obama did. I’ve come to idolize her as a person from my studies and one day hope to be like her. Clinton initiated Health Care Reforms, and is the creator of the Department of Justice’s Violence Against Women. The Violence Movement, reduced aggression toward women, and helped victims of violence. She gained significant influence and power over the Democratic Nomination in 2008, through her achievements. She is a great role model and a huge advocate of feminism for women at their finest I think because of her great accomplishments, she will become the first lady president, in the 2016 election. “There cannot be true democracy unless women’s voices are heard. There cannot be true democracy unless......
