How to study smart? Ninety-nine percent! Can anyone tell me what this number stands for? This figure corresponds to the average grade an ordinary student craves for. I myself also wanted to reach a grade that is as high as ninety-nine. And, honestly you too dreamt of having a mark that is close to perfect one, right? Yes, of course. Today, people continue to search new discoveries that will improve the human life. This is the scenario that everyone expects—to improve, and so with our grades. Every student is expected to get a high rating, but in reality this ninety-nine percent that we like becomes seventy-nine percent or even seventy-five percent. It is really hard to acquire such high grades, but each one of us can make the impossible possible. Everybody has the capability to turn seventy-five into ninety-five or beyond. But how can we do that? To our teacher, Ma’am Clara Gonzales, and to my beloved classmates, a pleasant afternoon to each and everyone of you. Getting a high grade is difficult to do. However, “difficult” is not a word of a student who studies in a smart way. So, how to study smart? These are two principles I know that could make us study smart. First, “be responsible.” There is a quotation that goes this way, “There is no hard task in a responsible person. Being responsible for me is not being an “all-day and all-night studying” student. Rather, being responsible is being able to manage ones’ time in an effective manner. A task becomes difficult or hard if you’re in a rush. If you are in this situation doing your work, that’s the time you cannot think very well. Because of doing things quickly, you forget to understand things if it is the right one, the true one, or the correct one. You will not be able to improve your work, correct your work, and make it better because…...

Case Study Smart Car

...Smart Car I would first like to start by identifying and discussing the types of decision processes a consumer goes through when purchasing this type of product. The first decision for any consumer is establishing the want or need for the product, in this case a Smart car. This I believe is fairly easy as it is a new product streaming on to the market, there is nothing else quite like it on the market and very few people will initially have them in the United States. So, this covers the need for recognition. Secondly, a producer, in this case Daimler-Benz must create a good marketing mix for the product that they are introducing into a new market. Daimler-Benz did through simple research here in America consumers want to feel they get a product that is worth what they pay. Consumers also like the aspect of something new that is different or flashy. Daimler-Benz did this through offering a vehicle that is very compact, offers great gas mileage, seats two, environmental friendly, allows the consumer to change the vehicles looks and is offered at a very good price tag. With all of these great aspects who wouldn’t want a Smart car. Now Daimler-Benz needs to afford consumers in the new market with the information needed to move consumers on in the decision process. They decided to enter the market here in the United States primarily in metropolitan areas not through a large advertising campaign but through the use of the grapevine in limited areas offering a small initial...

Teaching Smart People How to Learn

...Summary of "Teaching Smart People How To Learn" In " Teaching Smart People How To Learn '' by Chris Argyris. The author has tried to describe a learning dilemma that companies will face. He has mentioned that professionals are really good at a term called "single loop" learning. They have collected experience from past and will use these experience to solve future problem. Most professionals are highly educated and success in college life or in previous jobs. Therefore it is really difficult for them to accept failure that might caused by them. As the author said, "many professionals have extremely brittle personalities''(Argyris, 6). When conflicts appear these professionals are trying to defense, protect or even drawing themselves out of responsibilities. Once they are criticized by others about failure, it will leads despair in order to push them to escape. On the other hand, companies' CEOs have the responsibility to teach their subordinates how to learn to face failure instead of avoiding. However, even most of CEOs have tried but only few success. They believe that they are doing hardly to reduce pressure and trying to find some more efficiency ways to improve but they forget to change themselves. They always face a dilemma such as "kept urging them to "think of the organization as a whole." On the other, he kept calling for actions department budget cuts, for example-that placed them directly in competition with each other."(Argyris, 8). Thus, conflicts still......

How I Got Smart Reading Response

...September 2014 How I Got Smart Reading Response This article’s title says it all. It is a story about how a guy got smart. In the first few paragraphs, the author talks about how students view teachers as bookworms who would study a lot rather than playing and end up to be a teacher anyway. He mentions that he tried to explain that the image that they are picturing during his adolescence is wrong. He hated compulsory education with a passion. I believe that the author’s argument is that everyone is smart in their own way. He argues that he did not get smart by the way most of the students would assume right away that just because ones a teacher, then they have been a book worm and just studied a lot during their adolescence. This is why the author told a story about an experience that changed his life. An experience on how he got smart and this is because of a girl named Debbie. Just like a typical high school student, he fell in love with Debbie at first sight and since she was an intelligent lady, the author felt obliged to be intelligent as well to impress her. Though the storyline ended as the incentive being gone because the author just got led on by Debbie, he says that “Having savored the heady wine of knowledge, I could not now alter my course”. Reading this article made me think how we all have different backgrounds on why who we are now and how we all have our own ways on how we become who we are and what we are. I believe that everybody is smart in their own......

Case Study: Elise Smart

...The key manager is Elise Smart. She is 32 years old and was the senior manager in the development group of the IT division. She is a high performer and has special knowledge in the field of IT. Also a strong leading competence is one of her values. Her strategy was to implement a new drop-in-centre. As she took her new role the staff was unmotivated and tired. After analyzing the situation she started to get things organized. Within six months, her team performed well, was motivated and disciplined which leaded to success. Each team member in the group split their time between face-to-face consulting and answering telephone questions in shifts. The establishment of this PC support created a situation in which IT now had two separate help departments. Teaching Smart People How to Learn

...This is an Executive Summary of the article, “Teaching Smart People How to Learn” by Chris Argyris. A business’ success in the marketplace depends on highly trained staff. However many people don’t know how to learn. In fact the most difficult training strategies are those that are developed for personnel in senior leadership positions. Senior leaders are effective problem solvers when focusing on, identifying and correcting issues in the organizational environment. But when confronted with how their actions might have contributed to the organization’s problems they avoid learning; and in order for learning to continue personal reflection is required to influence change. A learning organization must understand the distinction between ‘‘single loop learning” and ‘‘double loop learning”. “Single loop learning” involves the identification and solving of a problem. Whereas “double loop learning” asks why is there a problem? Professionals utilize “single-loop learning” for projects such as organizational restructuring, training and development and process improvement. But seldom do they master the skills of “double loop learning”. All too often success has denied these professionals the opportunity to learn from their mistakes. As a result they avoid learning because they lack the reflective skills necessary to ask themselves why there is a problem and what role did I play in that problem. Avoidance Learning Studies of professional consultants exemplify the process of......
