Visual entertainment media is a part of everyday life, anywhere from cellphones, television, internet, newspaper, etc. All of the forms of visual entertainment media have helped shaped America, also the culture and values that have developed over the years. The most common visual entertainment media form that has shaped, influenced, the culture and values in America is cable television. Cable television covers so many different forms within itself, news channels, religious channels, debate channels, and different types of local television programs. Each of these channels carries their own message, with entertainment values that are viewed by the person watching the program. Many forms of visual entertainment carry a negative social influence message, self-education is important on these types of visual entertainment in order to determine what best fits your personal situation. If there are, guidelines that are set on, what type of visual entertainment are acceptable, internet access, cell phone access, and television channels. Than the amount of negative influence, someone may be subjected to can be cut down dramatically, giving the opportunity for positive experiences to be put in its place. The idea of visual entertainment media is to help spread education, and social entertainment purposes. One way to ensure that this is the experience that is shared is to limit what you make available to your family and how much is acceptable. I think that it is very easy for adolescent minds to be subjected to influence, both positive and negative depending on what their social surrounding support frequently. If a child is exposed to violent, sexual, or death filled entertainment, it is more likely for them to incorporate these things into their everyday social environment. This affects their social behavior and attitudes to not only peers, but also any given situation.

The three major social network websites are Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter. These three websites have the same basic purpose to connect to people but, they also have different options for the user. According to Bedford/ St. Martins, “Facebook is now the most popular social media website and one of the fastest-growing sites on the internet.” With Facebook arising in popularity many people are being able to connect with lost friends from their past, many families who live across the country will be able to share the special moments with their friends and family online in Facebook that they normally would not be able to do because of the distance. I have the same issue, I live in Texas and my sister lives in Michigan so the only way she can see pictures and videos of the kids is via Facebook. Even people from different countries are able to keep in touch with their families across the nations and overseas, the Facebook website offers a lot to the users by allowing you to connect with friends and family free of cost for the user. Facebook also offers games, horoscopes, and different activities to the users of the website. Facebook is a popular option. Here, individuals are able to connect with friends and family all over the world. This is an excellent way to keep in touch with loved ones without having to travel. Pictures can be posted and shared, making it easy for everyone to share in the excitement. Twitter is another social media network. It is similar to Facebook with the exception of postings being titled “tweets” and friends are titled “followers”. Also, Twitter limits the number of characters allowed for each tweet to 140 characters, where Facebook does not have a set limit. LinkedIn is more on the professional side. This social media network is used by individuals searching for a job or by businesses who are looking to hire new employees. It is a great way for businesses to expand and for people to launch or accelerate their careers. There are some advantages to using social media. ...Quality or quantity, which is more important? Viewers of local news station live in communities; they are families. They would want to hear about their local park closing three days a week, but a celebrity death is tempting gossip. While the death may affect a few viewers the park story affects them as a whole. As the director of the local news station I would run the park closing story because it affects the viewer much more than a celebrity death, poses hassles for viewers, and it is the stations responsibility to keep local news relevant to the viewers. A local park closing three days a week affects everyone in the surrounding communities. Parents, grandparents, and children will have to find other things to do on the days that the park is closed. When children get off from school they have an abundance of energy from sitting in one spot for most of the day. The local park is a safe place for them to exert this energy. The closing could cause more kids to play in the streets, find dangerous places to play, or become less active. The delivery of this story could help lessen the stress on those community members. The local news station has a responsibility to inform viewers of upcoming events that will directly affect them. A celebrity death does not create any hassles for viewers; they are often occurrences. The park closing story poses a few hassles: Parent’s may have to drive farther for after school sports, rearrange schedules to accommodate this change, and be more......
