Human Service Programs: Commonalities & Successes Paper
All human service agencies share the goal of satisfying human needs through an interdisciplinary knowledge base, concentrating on prevention as well as remediation of problems, and asserting a commitment to better the tone of life enhancement and bring positive changes to the families and individuals (National Human Service, 2014). There are many characters of human service that are under vary by category, and it comes in different sizes, such as a worldwide representation to small agency in many urban centers. Most agencies are nonprofit, which the nonprofit uses its revenues to carry out its missionary work, and cannot distribute profits to owners or shareholders. Some agencies are for profit, which for-profit agencies carries out their missionary works, but uses revenue as profit. Human service agencies’ mission is to put people’s need as a first priority through an interdisciplinary knowledge base focusing on prevention and commitment to help improve the quality of life (National Human Service, 2014).
There are four trends, which is political, economic, social, and technological. The political pressure to avoid displaying material reduction in service while costs increase and revenues falls the changes in human services. Technologies has produced a great alteration in human services, and it is cost-effective services (Govtech, 2014). Economic trends affect human services because when the economy is not managing well, more people will be in demand. The government has budget problems and it affects the funds to not be able to help clients, such as cutting down or shutting the programs. The economy usually is a rollercoaster for the agencies because of the changes and increases in costs. Social are diversity of changes in human services and the agencies must be able to see those different populations’ need and values. Thither are many deaf, hard of hearing, and DeafBlind that are having a hard time obtaining a job or could not afford school to obtain degrees, they need services to help find out how to apply and do an interview. For technological is something that the deaf, hard of hearing, and DeafBlind can use to communicate with the agencies. Agencies uses technologies for many programs to create their work easier.
The human services have many components that contribute to success. The mission for human services is to serve the people, families, senior citizens, and youngsters. For nonprofit and profit agencies, their goals is to provide the services to help the individuals, and families with their needs and to obtain the services. As long as there are funds coming in agencies are to stay open for individuals, families, senior citizens, and youngsters.

...HUS1011/30 22 May 2013 What is the Historical Background of Human, Maternal, and Child Services? Since the beginning of time there has been a basic need for human services. It has helped to make a big impact, and a difference, in our society now and then; and has helped to maintain a positive and long lasting difference in peoples’ lives, and it helps to improve our nation. How much do we know about the history of where it all began, and what challenges had to be faced in order for improvement to be made in the lives of the people? First, we must begin at the start of where it all began, a half a million years ago; the Stone Age. The first Human Service worker began assisting individuals with their needs was called a shaman, or medicine man; they did a surgical procedure where they would cut a hole (with a sharp stone) into the skull of an individual to help let the evil spirits that had possessed them out. They believed in the supernatural in those times, as well as, that everything bad was from something evil, and it must be eradicated immediately by rituals or rites. It was very hard to be able to find a place to live or get food because the environment was so hard, so the healthy had to assist the disable, sick, and elderly family members, if not they would not be able to get the basic necessities of survival. There were no agencies or programs for individuals who could not do for themselves to get assistance; the family was the main source of help. As......

Some apply for private funding as well, but in order for the organization to make sure that they are not paying double invoices and the money is used for its intended program, they have accountants that use the universal accounting method called the Accrual Accounting Method. Accountants have been using this method for organizations as well as business entities. Service provided and or goods delivered to the organization for which a bill has not been submitted, the organization would and completed by the contractor. Sometimes the bill are not generated at that particular time and the organization want to match the billing statement to the account in the revenue on the financial statement in order to make sure that it coincides with each other. This is a way for the organization also not to pay an invoice more than once. If the organization make payment at the time of service and receive a bill a month after, the organization would pay that bill believing that it was not paid. By using the accrual accounting method, this mistake would not happen. The accrual accounting method is also a form of organizations using products for credit or receiving service for credit. Although the item is not paid for at the time of service, the organization is anticipating that in the future that payment......

This new concept gave emphasis on issues such as empathy and acceptance surrounding issues related to the people of the community who needed help, also promoting ideas of comprehensive care involving poverty. ...How has managed care affected service delivery for clients? In your opinion, has it improved client care? In . Also before a client can gain access to services there must be a request from a professional. It can be an initial assessment, a detailed description of the problem, service plan, termination or request for reimbursements. Most times the client most has referral from a physician to receive mental health services. Sometimes a client must wait to see a physician and this puts their problems on hold. Computers are a type of technology that professionals use for information management. Computers and the operations that they preform are very helpful when comes to keeping track of documentations and managing the client’s information. A computer will save the worker time because it allows all the client’s information to be stored in one location that is at the worker’s fingertips. Which give the worker more time to focus on the needs of their client. However it is not a good ideal for the workers to store the information only one device, because issues with accessing can arise. Computers and other electric devices are open to getting attacked by hackers, viruses, or power outage, so the worker will need to have more than one option for keeping the client’s information safe. ...Brief History of Human Service Education "During the late 1950s and 1960s, there were dramatic changes in the area of helping those in need. Populations like the poor, the unemployed, children in need, the elderly, the disabled, the substance abuser and others began to be recognized as needing social and rehabilitation services. About this time, new legislation mandated that those formerly served in state mental hospitals would now be deinstitutionalized and would henceforth be seen in the communities in which they lived. It was not long before it became obvious that the traditional human resources would not meet the needs of the helping services being offered. The community based mental health system necessitated that professionals be trained in a different manner. While the provision of mental health services was undergoing these changes, the civil rights movement brought attention to social justice and equity issues. Consumers of social services became more involved in advocating for themselves and in creating services that would meet their own needs. Thus "grass roots" (started by the clients) level activism created opportunities for new approaches to human services. Amidst all these changes, a new class of workers was born.  Originally called paraprofessionals, these workers were often those who had been served by the helping system and had a better sense of the qualities and skills that were important for helpers to possess. Thus, what had begun as an informal......
