I Want a Husband
Every woman wants what she thinks is the perfect husband. Not every woman wants the same thing in a man. Some women want a man who is a little rough or some want a man who is college educated. A few things all women can agree upon is we all want a man who is gives attention, committed, a good provider, great listener, educated, and handy around the house. That is just to name a few things us women want in a man. When I think of what the world says a good man is to me it is like they are looking for the perfect man. To me the perfect man cannot be found every man has there flaws. You just have to find the man with the flaws that you can deal with. Every good man is not college educated; but they know how to get up and go to work to make an honest living. To find a man that is educated is a good thing that means that they are on your level and can keep up with you. Education is important to every woman when it comes to finding a husband, because you know that their values are in the right place if going to school is important to them. What woman you know wants a man that is not committed to them. If a man cannot be committed you might as well say there is not a relationship. Woman want to know that they are the only one in a man's life. Women like to know the man is not out and about doing things that he should not do. When a man is turns into a husband commitment is important. No woman wants to find out that her man was not committed totally to her cause it hurts. A husband should not be out all times of the night doing God knows what when he knows he got a wife at home. I always say “the measure of your love is only the measure of your loyalty”. Being committed is making sure you are the only one. To be is a successful relationship means to be committed. Most women in modern times are independent now, because it is hard to find a man that is a good provider. A husband should be a good provider no matter what. He supposed to make sure the bills and anything else is taken care of. No woman wants to take care of a man and the household as well. That man is supposed to make sure that his wife does not come home one night and the lights are off, because he forgot to pay the bill. If a husband cannot be a good provider then that woman might as well not get married. After a long day at work you want to be able to come home to your husband and tell him how your day has gone. Having a man that is a good listener is almost needed. I'm sure no woman wants to come home and their man cannot pay attention to you long enough to hear how you day went. Some men like to listen and others like to talk; sometime you have to find that balance between the two. That man that likes to listen may not always have the answer but he will listen to you even if he does not want to. If that man is a good listener even on one of those days he does not want to listen to you will never be able to tell he did not want to listen. I know most women want a man who can fix things. As a woman some of us cannot fix a whole lot of things, so then we have to spend money to get it fixed. If something breaks at the house we want our man there to fix it. If your car breaks downs you should be able to call your man to fix it. Getting a man that can fix things is great, but the trick is finding a man that can fix it right. It is easy to fix something, but then find out it is still broken. By having a man that child fix things to me it saves money that would have been spent calling someone in to fix it. Most women like a man that can pay attention to them. Why get a man that does not pay you any mind when you are there. If that man cannot pay attention then what is the point in being there. Woman like to know that you see them and know that they are there. No woman wash pants a man that will watch TV all day and act as if you are not there. When a man pays attention that lets us know that he sees us that he acknowledges you. Every woman wants a man that will walk in a room and give us his undivided attention. Having a man that is an at least good communicator is sometimes needed. If I find a man that his only response is “ok” or “yea” to everything I have to say then maybe I need to rethink something’s. You want to be able to have a decent conversation. If you cannot have a conversation with a man that says no more than two words then that is sooner or later will become a problem. Every woman likes to talk to their man, so having good commutation skills are important. Most men say that women ask for a lot, but that isn't true. Some women like I are simple we do not ask for much. My ideal husband would have good commutation skills, educated, committed, pays attention, a good listener, good provider, and handy. That is not a lot to ask for from a man. No man is perfect, so there is no point in looking for a man that is perfect. Perfect is only what your mind thinks is perfect to and for yourself. Every man has flaws, but if you can look past those flaws then you may find your ideal husband.…...

I Want a Wife

...Anonymous In the 1970 essay "I Want a Wife", by Judy Brady, The author effectively showed her message, Brady was a women, underappreciated and fed up with it The author wanted to express some resentment in what men expect of women a wife. There is a somewhat humorous tone to the way Brady sends that message in her writing, No person could fit the model of wife she illustrated, Brady shows that she and other wives are somewhat robbed of things, that men take for granted. Brady writes this essay in a first person point of view. She is writing as the man who wants a super wife. She makes a list of the responsibilities that a typical woman from the 1970's would have. According to Brady "If by chance I find more suitable as a wife than the wife I already have, the author states “I want the liberty to replace my current wife with a new one." That is a clear of how Brady feels she and other women are treated unjustly. In the 1970's it was an era that marriages strongly reflected what Brady was trying to say. In that time I think that the essay was calling out, she is a wife and wants to show other wives that they aren't the only ones fed up with the system of marriage. The author states "I belong to that classification of people known as wives. I am a wife. And, not altogether incidentally I am a mother." I think she just wants people to know that she wants to reverse roles. I don't think in today’s society that this is as much an issue as when Brady wrote this essay. While true...

I Want You

...I WANT YOU FOR THE U.S. ARMY!” Now, what would you do if someone were to ask you this? Or if you seen it out in town on a poster? Would you pay any attention to it or just walk on by? Most people would honestly just walk on by, unless, there was something in that particular poster that had caught their attention. Recruiting ads have changed over the years, but this one was popular. This particular recruiting advertisement was an effective argument because of their slogan, Uncle Sam, his stare, his point, and the use of America’s colors; red, white, and blue. I would say this particular recruiting image was for men or boys. Back then it were only the men or boys who could actually join the army. So, this poster excluded any women and girls because they were not allowed to join. The main targeted audience for this was for the younger men and boys, and for more than one reason. The younger they are, the more apt they are to be healthier. The army wants them to be younger because they can move more quickly and act upon things faster than someone who is older. They also want the men who don’t already have a family started because then they won’t have that worry while out in battle and can focus better on what they need to do. Where is the place where you see most advertisements for things? Out in town, right? This image was more than likely posted out in town on public buildings as well, that is where most of a town’s population goes for many different reasons. Having it out......

I Want a Wife

...Essay) JUDY BRADY I Want a Wife (1971) Judy Brady’s essay became an instant classic when it appeared in 1971 in the premier issue of the feminist magazine Ms. As you read, analyze the definitions of “husband” and “wife” that Brady uses, and consider why this essay became so powerful in the 1970s. I belong to that classification of people known as wives. I am A Wife. And, not altogether incidentally, I am a mother. Not too long ago a male friend of mine appeared on the scene fresh from a recent divorce. He had one child, who is, of course, with his ex-wife. He is looking for another wife. As I thought about him while I was ironing one evening, it suddenly occurred to me that I, too, would like to have a wife. Why do I want a wife? I would like to go back to school so that I can become economically independent, support myself, and, if need be, support those dependent upon me. I want a wife who will work and send me to school. And while I am going to school I want a wife to take care of my children. I want a wife to keep track of the children’s doctor and dentist appointments. And to keep track of mine, too. I want a wife to make sure my children eat properly and are kept clean. I want a wife who will wash the children’s clothes and keep them mended. I want a wife who is a good nurturant attendant to my children, who arranges for their schooling, makes sure that they have an adequate social life with their peers, takes them to the park, the zoo, etc. I want a wife who......

I Dont Want to Fight

...a party. I invited my best friend of twenty years. And she hasn’t attended any events that I have hosted for a couple of years. When she told me she wouldn’t be making it because they had to go to her husband’s banquet so he could collect his cash reward and trophy for the season. I avoided her for a few hours because it upset me. This was an interpersonal conflict. By avoiding communicating my feelings with my friend was not resolving anything. In the past I avoided telling her how it made me feel when she never show up when I needed her which started hurting our relationship. We started to grow apart and loose our best friend connection. This relationship was starting to result of negative effects because I felt like she was trying to hurt me intentionally. Our defined conflict of my best friend and I is that we’re in countering avoidance in our relationship because I was avoiding talking to her because I was upset that because she never came to any on my events. I first wrote out what I want to say to her, by understanding what she might have going on her life as to why she can’t take time to support me. After writing up what I want to say to her I reread it and though about the possible solution of how she would react to what I am try to express to her. I was pretty sure that she was going to get up set and accuse me of being selfish because I was only worried about why she isn’t coming to any of my events. That is what I thought was going to happen. After I actually...

Before I Die I Want to

...Before I die I want to... Before I die I want to be able to do many things that I want to do but I will only highlight a few that I really would like to be able to focus on. One thing that I want to be able to do before I die is to be able to live happy and relaxed for a long period of time. Another thing that I would want to be able to do before I die is to travel to a few different countries or even states for example in particular South Korea and maybe London. Something else that I would want to be able to accomplish before I die is to be at the top position possible at a job in the IT field or some computer related position. Lastly before I die I would like to be able to live life without regrets. The reasoning behind me wanting to be able to live a happy and relaxed life is because ever since I got into high school I don’t think have been living constantly happy life, and I have defiantly not been able to be relaxed because I picked up a job that I almost work every day and have lots of things I have to constantly worry about especially now that I’m in college, and my grades really matter to me now and hoping that I will be able to do well in my classes. Another reason that I would want to live happily is because living happy can help your life span so If I continue on living stressed out and worried about things every day I feel like it can affect my health in the long term, I feel like being able to live worry free would be such a good feeling. I really......

Why I Want to Teach

...of image they want to imprint on their students. Growing up I have had many teachers, some have left good and bad experiences in my life that has ultimately brought me to where I am today. “John Dewey was possibly the most influential educator of the twentieth century and probably the most controversial one”(Sadker &Zittleman 2010). I believe in being a progressive teacher in that I want to see my students at any skill level continue to improve. As a progressive teacher I will have 3 main goals: to inspire, grow and groom individuality into each student under my care in the classroom. I will a teacher whose image will never be forgotten and whose tenacity for education is never questioned. I believe that, if possible, every child no matter the age or ethnic background should be treated as an Individual in the classroom. In my own personal experiences being a student I have seen how even in a college setting the connection a teacher or professor can have with a student one on one is much more satisfying than a teacher who just teaches a class. Education, according to John Dewey, is the “participation of the individual in the social consciousness of the race” (Dewey, 1897). As such, education should take into account that the student is a social being. The process begins at birth with the child unconsciously gaining knowledge and gradually developing their knowledge to share and partake in society. Furthermore, in my educative journey with my students I want them to be......

This part of computer history is called the "history of programmable machines" which is a fancy phrase for "The history of machines that I can order to do different things if I know how to speak their language." One of the first examples of this was built by Hero of Alexandria (c. 10–70 AD). He built a mechanical theater which performed a play lasting 10 minutes and was operated by a complex system of ropes and drums. These ropes and drums were the language of the machine- they told what the machine did and when. Some people argue that this is the first programmable machine.[1] Most historians agree that the "castle......

...higher prices went. Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich went off the deep end with a program guaranteeing mortgage loans for illegal aliens. The peak of insanity was when Alphonso Jackson, Housing and Urban Development Secretary actually went so far as to send this message to private sub-prime lenders: 'I am absolutely emphatic about winning back our share of the market that has slipped away to subprime lenders.' Look at the insanity. Government was talking about winning market share from the private sector on housing. Then of course we have Bush's Ownership Policy making renters feel like second class citizens. Government has no business promoting one form of housing over another. The Fed's role in this was slashing interest rates to 1 percent in an inane attempt to prevent deflation in the aftermath of the last recession. At the same time Greenspan openly endorsed ARMs right at the bottom of interest rate yields. Greenspan is a man who was wrong at every major turn. History will not treat him kindly. The role of consumer greed should be obvious. How long will it be before housing finally hits bottom? And where will prices decline the most? It took Japan 18 years to hit bottom. I suspect it will take at least 5 to 7 here and 5 is very optimistic. It could easily take 10 years or more. My best guess is 7 but it all depends on what the Fed does to fight it. Ironically enough, the more the Fed fights it the longer it will take. That is what happened in Japan and it will likely......

I Want a Wife

...Who Wouldn't Want a Wife Marriage is one of the basic institutions of society. It has been researched and analyzed for centuries. Most beliefs have developed and changed, but some have remained as the fundamental basis. They are called marriage stereotypes or tenets being declared as true without giving proper reasoning. . In her essay " I Want a Wife", Judy Brady uses a pathos to describe the duties of a wife in the 1970's while writing in a persona of a husband. She explains why she would like to have a wife. Marriage stereotypes are certain ideas which are held true about marriage and roles of a husband and a wife in it. In Genesis 2:18 God states that it is not good that man is to be alone and He makes a helper suitable, or comparable to him. (Bible) A woman takes on the role of a helper when she marries, along with cooking, cleaning, and meeting the families need, according to society. At the beginning of the essay, Brady mentions that she belongs to that classified group of wives, married and with a child. As Brady is ironing clothes she starts thinking "I want a wife" after she thinks of a friend that ended being divorced and was waiting to find a wife. The author then reflects on her life and starts to write in a persona of a husband narrating all the duties that a wife would perform, as if narrating her own personal life. Not only does she want a wife that works but also attends to children, along with keeping up with their doctors appointment and attend to......
