Infidelity and divorce

Infidelity is is referenced as marital disloyalty, unfaithfulness, a breach of trust or a disloyal act and it is also called adultery. The word is as strong as the act and the feelings that come along with it. Society as a whole look down at it, but by speaking with different people on the subject I have found that the man sees this acts sometimes acceptable as long as it is being perpetrated by another man. Woman on the other had find this to be distasteful and sometimes refused to even talk about this subject especially with a man asking the questions. This practice you can see changes as the subjects get younger. While the older more established woman frown at this, the younger woman seem to not have an emotional attachment to the hate of this act. Many of these younger woman find that it is acceptable for the woman to be the infidel one and the reasoning behind that is that for many years it has been acceptable by men to see other men commit this act and they have allowed it. The sense from these young woman of equality reaches even this level. I was able to talk and interview a couple of different couples of different generations and get their perspective on infidelity and how it ruins relationships and marriages.

I first decided to talk to the men and basically as why men cheat, this had many different reactions depending on the way that the man was brought up and what part of society this gentleman came from. The one area that was most surprising was that all the men whether young or old had the same experiences and the same kind of pressures while growing up from their peers. I started talking with an older gentleman that was married from over 30 years and asked him what his opinion was in the subject. He proceeded to tell me that for him it started when he was in Junior High School and they had their first dance. He…...

...ause and Effect of Divorce In today’s society, divorce is more the norm than ever before. Forty percent of all marriages end in divorce. Divorce defined by Webster is the action or an instance of legally dissolving a marriage. Divorce itself is both a cause and effect. There are many causes of divorce. Some of the causes happen more often than others. For instance, the most common causes of divorce are poor communication, financial problems such as lack of money, lack of commitment to marriage, a dramatic change in priorities, infidelity, sexual indiscretion and the ease of getting a divorce. These are some of the most common causes of divorce. The effects of a divorce seem insurmountable when comparing the grief it causes on both sides. A marriage is on the rocks when the lines of communication fail. A couple can’t have an effective relationship if neither one of them won’t discuss their feelings, cant’ talk about mutual or personal issues, will keep their resentments simmering under wraps, and expect your partner to guess what the whole problem is about. Communication is a very important part of a relationship. This is one of the reason’s pre-martial counseling is encouraged. (Panse) Communication can help in understanding one another. ......

Amanda A Northrup Schiller International University Abstract Cheating seems like it is almost a guaranteed topic of discussion at least once a day. Whether you’re hearing a struggle of someone close to you, hearing about it on the television, or even telling your own personal experience, we hear about it way too often. Cheating can be done in the palm of your hand, just on your cell phone alone. We are surrounded in a social media thriving world which allows you to chat with anyone via email, games, apps, text, and even websites designed for the cheating spouse. The reasons people cheat are plentiful; anywhere from intimacy issues, to boredom. Divorce

...Divorce I will start out by explaining the definition of divorce. A divorce is a legal action between married people to terminate their marriage relationship. It can be referred to as dissolution of marriage and is basically, the legal action that ends the marriage before the death of either spouse (Meyer, nd). One might say, what causes couples to decide to get a divorce? There are many reasons for divorce. I believe that most marriages end when a man and a woman decide to get married they do not realize all the stresses of life that come with being married. They get married thinking all will be great when in reality there is always something that could go wrong. Couples argue about things like money, bills, work, and children. Sometimes there may be more severe cases such as one or the other spouse finds someone else and that can lead to adultery. Adultery is one of the many causes of divorce, but despite what people may say very few marriages end because of infidelity. Most divorces occur in the first two to five years of marriage, and are mostly asked for by the women. In some cases it can be a mutual decision to get a divorce. The wife may retain the husband's name, although in most cases she may choose to go back to her maiden name. No one likes the idea of divorce, but it seems to be a more common issue among many couples in today’s society. Divorce is quite costly and can be a very difficult process. When children are involved in a marriage it is usually harder......

...difference of high school and university (comparison essay)Proposal Report → Rising Divorce Rates (cause and effect essay) April 10, 2012 by puipuiii · No Comments · Writing Men and women have the equal right. They can do what they want to do. If they love each other, they are going to get married. However, if they lose their love for each other, absolutely, they are going to divorce. In the past, there were a few divorces because there were not many problems like in these days. Rising divorce rates today has been resulted from four causes. First is infidelity. The main reason often occurs from a man because he goes to work and leave his wife to look after their home and child. He goes to work that means he has a chance to meet other women. Some men not only just talk with other women but have the affairs with those women. Moreover, they may have children outside marriage. In addition, some men may infect the veneral diseases from their paramours. This problem can lead to the divorce of a couple. Second is the domestic violence. This trouble is very terrible. When the couple has not yet married, they will not know the real character of his or her partner but after they get married, they will know what the truth is. The truth that I mean is violence. Suppose, a man or a woman like to use it, but his or her partner does not like and cannot bear with that violence. Thus, it causes the divorce problem. Third is the financial problem. Somebody may think that is a......

...Divorce in the United States Tajaunna Pope Sociology Professor Darcy Schiller 3/19/14 Divorce or “dissolution of marriage” is a legal process in which a judge or other authority of the court breaks the bonds of matrimony between couples. This restores them to being single and able to remarry another individual. U.S. divorce rates are the highest in the world. There isn’t any data to show why divorce rates are higher than other countries. In the United States, researchers estimate that 40-50% of all first marriages end in divorce, and second marriages follow by 60%. Studies show that there are many factors that are associated with the increasing prevalence of divorce: lack of commitment, changes in laws, changes in gender roles, the media, and the changing views of divorce – just to name a few. These are just a few, but I think these are at the top of list. Lack of commitment is one of the most common reasons for divorce. Besides love, there are other reasons to stay married. In today’s society, once the love is gone, the marriage ends. It used to be about raising the children and providing a foundation for them, as well as financial security. The importance of this has diminished. Past generations used to endure a lot more in their marriages then the current generations. Working to save your marriage seems to be a thing of the past. Today, it seems much easier to quit and move on to the next best thing. Couples are lazy and feel they shouldn’t have to work for their......

...Causes and Effects of Divorce Relationships are all about give and take, and to maintain them people must be willing to do the work. Today dissolution of marriage is being used as the easy way out when couples can no longer agree. Although people tend to think carefully before they get marriage, the rate of divorce continuously rise nowadays. There are three main causes of divorce: lack of communication, financial problems, and infidelity, which are explained throughout this essay. The first significant cause for divorce is lack of communication. A marriage is on the rocks when the line of communication fails. Couples can’t have a good relationship if either spouse won’t discuss his or her feelings, can’t talk about his or her mutual or personal issues, or expect the partner to guess what the problem is about. Without healthy communication, couples have little chance of resolving any conflict that arises during their marriage. This includes conflict of opinion with regards to small issues and bigger ones, like religion, raising or having children, job opportunities and money management. Another cause of divorce is financial issues. Budget problems and debt arising out of low or reduced income is an example of a financial cause of divorce. A couple struggling to make ends meet has the potential to cause conflict within the marriage. Fighting over how to budget becomes a major issue in the marriage. In many cases one of the partners is not happy with the overspending......

In a society such as ours, where the divorce rate is sky high, infidelity plays a major role and of great concern to all those who are presently married, or those who are someday hoping to be. Emotional and sexual infidelity is the two most studied forms of infidelity. Infidelity is a sexual and/or emotional act engaged in by one person within a committed relationship. Divorce

...Causes and Effects of Divorce Nancy Marie Brown January 1, 2002 "In the 1970s, divorce escalated like crazy. Women were entering the labor force in incredible numbers. Are those two things related," asks Alan Booth, "or aren't they? "And if divorce is not related to women working, what is it related to?" Booth, a Penn State sociologist, has been asking that question for 20 years. He himself has been divorced and remarried in the meantime, as has his co-investigator on the National Longitudinal Study of Marriage, Paul Amato. More to the point, they and their colleagues have amassed hours of survey data on 2,000 married men and women, interviewed by telephone, paper, or computer survey up to six times over the 20 years, "through a whole marital history, if you like," says Amato. "Some people in the study are on their third or fourth marriages. We've followed them through divorce, singlehood, and remarriage." They've also interviewed many of their children. Then in 2000, the research team interviewed a completely new random sample of 2,100 married individuals. "So we can look at two different kinds of change," Amato explains: "How individual marriages change over time, and how the population of married couples has changed between 1980 and 2000." Their results are changing the way people think about marriage and divorce, and particularly about the effects of divorce on children. "I think it's our study," says Booth, "that put the capstone on the idea that divorce can be bad for......

Divorce

...INTRODUCTION A divorce is what happens when two people decide not to be married to each other anymore. A divorce legally ends a marriage, and people are free to marry other people if they want to. Even though a divorce ends marriage, it does not end a family. It is therefore imperative for enactment of appropriate laws to offer protection for children of divorced spouse and vulnerable marriage partners. End of marriage can have devastating effects on various groups of persons. These may include the couples themselves, the children, families, and even friends. CAUSES OF DIVORCE Marriages are meant to last as long as couples are alive, but there are several instances where many marriages fell. People divorce for varied reasons and research has shown that divorce rates have increased significantly. Some of the reasons why marriages collapse include the following; Cheating: Many marriages break due to infidelity on the part of a partner. Tradition, religion and society at large abhor extra marital affairs. A partner who gets to know the other partner is cheating on him or her is very likely to request for a divorce. Though few people are willing to work through infidelity, it is very difficult restoring trust. They continue to punish their partner for the deep hurt they feel and relationship often crumbles. Dishonesty: People in relationships can have different definitions for dishonesty. As some believe it involves only those incidents when a partner deliberately say things he......

The change in one’s marital association. Some, specially the hopeless romantic, say that their marriage is the epitome of their lives.
