Japanese and work
Japan is suffering from economic stagnation partly due to the failure to bring women into work. According to this article Women’s have the greatest potential, and allowing them to demonstrate their full abilities is the core for Japans growth strategy. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has brought the issue to the forefront of his economic-growth policy known as "Abenomics," proclaiming a goal to fill 30% of leadership positions in Japan with women by 2020. Major issue:

Female Labor shortage is becoming an acute problem in Japan. Labor intensive industries are increasingly unable to fill their vacancies due to which Japan is suffering from economic stagnation.


Japan suffers from one of the lowest rates of female workforce participation in the developed world.

Minor issues: * Lack of childcare facilities, * Badly developed career support. * The country also suffers one of the lowest birthrates in the developed world. * A culture of Gender discrimination which results in many women remaining at home. * Women quit their jobs, they are not career oriented *
Major Objective:
According to this article the ultimate goal is to enhance Japan robust economy through economic-growth policy known as "Abenomics," proclaiming a goal to fill 30% of leadership positions in Japan with women by 2020 and increases the number of womens in Japanese work force.
Enhance Japanese economy through employing more women and alleviating them to leadership positions as well. (sir ne kaha tha short hona chaye objective)

Minor Objectives: * The idea of making Japan more accessible to foreign workers. * To make equal salary wages for women’s because women’s earn low as compared to men’s * To make proper policies for women’s in Japan so that they boost Japans economy and reform corporate culture. * Better childcare facilities

Major objectives Pros and cons:
* Female labor force participation is an important driver (and outcome) of growth and development. * Women join the workforce in developing countries as a coping mechanism in response to shocks. * The participation of women is the outcome of various macro and individual factors * Access to quality education (beyond secondary) is critical to improve employment outcomes for women. (How is this an advantage?)

CONS: * In developing countries, high female labor force participation rates typically reflect poverty. * Women earn less than men and are more likely to be engaged in unprotected jobs, such as domestic work. * Education raises the reservation wage and expectations of women, but it needs to be matched by job creation.

According to this article raising the quality and quantity of female labor participation is an important challenge for Japan and this will serve as a key component for Japan economic growth strategy. Prime minister Abe greatly emphasized women centered policy for his “Abenomics” Japan still lag far behind than other developed countries when it comes to leadership positions. Serious issues were taking placing in terms of woman’s participation in labor force so prime minister Abe is now have to overlook these issues such gender discrimination, Daycare facilities and career support in order to enhance robust economy of Japan.

It is reasonable to equate Japan’s rapid post-war economic development to the 1990s with social solidarity and conformism. From what I was able to gather, the Japanese and Filipino cultures have quite a few significant differences, but have more similarities than I originally anticipated. As the name would suggest, Little Tokyo is fairly little, with its borders spanning a radius of only a few blocks. Walking from one end of the town to the other took no more than five minutes. That afternoon, we started our trip right in the middle of all the activity, into the mouth of a little alley known as the Japanese Village Plaza. People were walking in and out of cosmetic stores, bakeries, bars, gift shops, a brightly lit Sanrio store, cafes, a market, and a number of restaurants serving sushi, shabu shabu, ramen, even Korean barbeque. Many of these shops were playing traditional Japanese music, and interestingly, almost all of the employees that worked in these shops were women. The same could be said about the restaurants, as many of the servers were also women. The chefs on the other hand were all men, which may be one aspect of gender roles in the neighborhood. Very little theft occurs in Japan and for the most part, most lost items are either always returned to their rightful owners or brought to police stations where said items could be claimed. Only 6.6 bikes are stolen for every 100,000 people in Japan. In wake of the tsunami and past catastrophic events you see that the people of Japan were not looting. Translated, Bushido means “Way of the Warrior” and so it can be defined as a type of code of conduct for samurai.
