Leadership & Managerial Qualities

Managers and leaders, whether managing firms, their own organizations, or a platoon must have a good understanding of their habits and leadership traits. Managers and leaders take full responsibility in their communication with their employees to enhance organizations. The way they communicate to their employees ensures whether their team will respect them and work for them, or possibly run the business into the ground. Through truthfulness, optimism, future thinking, and the ability to communicate, managers are the leaders in organizations that keep businesses running smoothly in day-to-day operations.

Manager Qualities and Leadership Throughout my life, I have been blessed with the opportunity of being in the presence of exceptional and effective leaders. Many different experiences like being a combat marine for eight years and while serving five years deployed for the OIF, (Operation Iraqi Freedom) and OEF (Operation Enduring Freedom) campaigns. During that time I was given great responsibilities and duties which helped give me the direction and skills that have made me become an effective leader and manager. It is essential for a person to be able to communicate and he/she must be humble. One might question how these two seemingly different characteristics or qualities relate to being a leader, but you must note that without these two qualities effective leadership is lost.

Communication is everything. Leaders and managers in every industry and sector have all seen how import this one trait is. Without it, nothing would be accomplished and many tasks may not be completed. Because of this, it is vital that anyone assuming a leadership role be able to clearly state the objectives of the group or commander.
