Task 1 – The Scenario

Last year I was able to join the marketing department in one of the leading enterprises in the world in the field of car manufacturing, which was in consistency with the professional background of mine and the career prospect designed by myself. At first, I was expecting to gain a direct and overall understanding of the daily work and responsibility of employees in the marketing department, which may contribute to the future development of my career prospect. However, things were different from my expectations to a large extent.

Cathy took the main responsibility in charge of the marketing department, and she was a serious and strict leader in terms of all aspects of work and duty within the marketing department. Approximately one year ago, she was appointed as the leader of the marketing department from the manufacturing department as a result of the revolution and change in the marketing department. For Cathy who had benefited from the strict and rigid way of management, she tended to apply this way of management in the marketing department, which was in fact totally different from the working and management model in the manufacturing department. She abolished the original rewarding system in the marketing department. In fact, after the arrival of her, staffs in the marketing department were disappointed by the less stimulating rewarding system in the marketing department. Cathy tended to take the excellent working performance of staffs in the marketing department for granted, which may lead to less physical wealth awarding such as the monthly bonus and recognition as well as the spiritual awarding such as the verbal recognition or official acknowledgment. As a member of the marketing department, I always found it depressed and disappointed when I received little recognition or motivation from my colleagues or my leaders even if I had…...

...The Impact of the Affordable Care Act on Businesses Sadie Boyd Webster University FINC 5000 Abstract This research paper was created to bring a better understanding on how the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act affect business, government, and average American. Small business owners have historically had a much harder time providing themselves and their employees with insurance due to rising health insurance costs; meanwhile bigger businesses remain largely unaffected due to the leverage buying large group health plans gives them. This problem has only gotten more severe in the past decade. Today, almost half of America's uninsured are small business owners, employees or their dependents. There are around 44 million Americans who currently are unable to get health insurance. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA,) signed into law by President Barack Obama on March 23, 2010. Several rationales were offered in support of this legislation, including that it would lead to the creation of jobs and the reduction of the federal budget deficit. Everyone is affected by this health care in one way or another. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act Consistent with respected economists‟ forecasts, the health care law contains a number of provisions that will eliminate jobs, reduce hours and wages, and limit future job creation. ...the company culture to keep it strong and in line with the overall company umbrella. Most large companies have established culture programs for their leadership, so that they may take those tools, thought processes, and examples back to their teams to keep the culture strong. B) How does corporate culture influence mission, vision, ethics, metrics, collaboration. (10 Points) Corporate culture influences everyday employee actions – it’s how they interact with customers, each other, and make decisions. If the company culture does not align with the mission statement, it can create an identity crisis of sorts. The disconnect will be perceived by investors, and can steer them away from the company – it signals a clear issue with upper management and operations. If however, the mission statement is in line with the culture, it can give a sense of where the company is headed, if top talent will want to work at the company, and how engaged employees are in the work that they do. The culture can affect vision by providing a sense of purpose and clear direction for the employees. They should align, and propel the company forward, as well as give guidelines on how employees should make decisions. It promotes collaboration between all units/employees as well. 4 Explain how the macro environment affects the organization (10 Points) The macro environment includes factors that influence the strategy and performance of an organization. Personal computer categories include desktop, network, laptop, and handheld. A super computer is the fastest computer mostly used by scientist and engineers who work with huge amounts of data usually on more than one central processing unit (CPU) working simultaneously. Supercomputers have the ability to store huge amounts of data and the capability to deliver very fast input/output of information. The military branches, Universities, and science research facilities use the super computers mostly. Scientific computing is the ability of a CPU to accomplish huge mathematical computations at an extremely fast rate this created the demand for the super computer. Extremely large mathematical computations are processes most needed in fields such as physics, mechanical engineering, meteorology, and aerodynamics. A common technique is to compute an approximate numerical solution to a set of partial differential equations which mathematically describe the physical process of interest but are too complex to be solved by formal mathematical methods.
