Kaamulan Festival is an ethnic cultural festival held annually in Malaybalay City,Bukidnon from the second half of February to March 10, the anniversary date of the foundation of Bukidnon as a province in 1917. It is held to celebrate the culture and tradition of the seven ethnic tribal groups—Bukidnon, Higaonon, Talaandig, Manobo, Matigsalug, Tigwahanon and Umayamnon—that originally inhabit the province. It is the only ethnic festival in the Philippines. Kaamulan comes from the Binukid word “amul” meaning to gather.[4] Kaamulan is gathering for a purpose—a datuship ritual, a wedding ceremony, a thanksgiving festival during harvest time, a peace pact, or all of these together. Kaamulan started as a festival on May 15, 1974, during the fiesta celebration of the then municipality of Malaybalay. A town official thought of inviting some indigenous people to town and made them perform a few dance steps at Plaza Rizal to enliven the fiesta celebration.[6] The celebration however proved very popular and together with national coverage the Kaamulan festival has become the regional festival of Northern Mindanao, as declared by the Regional Development Council of Region 10 on September 16,1977. Kaamulan was formerly held in the first week of September but in 1996, it was transferred to the present date to synchronize it with the foundation celebration of the province until in 2014 it was moved to the month of August in light of the 100th Founding Anniversary of Bukidnon.[8]

The Kadayawan Festival is an annual festival in the city of Davao in the Philippines. Its name derives from the friendly greeting "Madayaw", from the Dabawenyo word "dayaw", meaning good, valuable, superior or beautiful. The festival is a celebration of life, a thanksgiving for the gifts of nature, the wealth of culture, the bounties of harvest and serenity of living.

Citations are also encouraged. Don't just recap the readings.               The topics covered this week are interesting in that they have great implications for democratic theory.  Issue voting would indicate an attentive public, while retrospective voting could render campaign promises meaningless.  The enterprise of assessing the determinants of vote choice is an extremely complicated one that suffers from several common difficulties.             The first is the availability of data.  Panel studies and surveys are expensive and time consuming, and therefore not consistently performed.  This hodge-podge of available data forces researchers to draw broad conclusions from data covering limited periods of time.  For example, Marcus and Converse used data from two elections.  The Kiinder and Abelson piece discussed by Asher found that candidate assessment fell along two separate dimensions – competence and integrity, yet the data was drawn during the Carter administration.  Carter may be a uniquely extreme example; an individual especially strong on integrity and weak on competence.  Similarly, CCMS drew conclusions about issue salience during a particularly non-contentious time period.  Many of these studies may be reporting......

...something—I knew no one except Hervin, so, I remained sitting beside him. He was my only friend in the classroom at that time because I knew him since he was my classmate before when I was third year. I come and go out in the classroom together with him every day. There was a time that I took courage to look back and found out if there was a vacant chair because I am not comfortable anymore of those murmurs I heard from my classmates, that I am his girlfriend and he was my boyfriend which is not true. There was a group of girls at the back who approached me, so, I took my bag with me and sat beside them. Hervin did not wonder anymore because first and foremost he knew my reason. Then one day, we need to group ourselves for our MAPEH to perform an advertisement. I did not group myself with my seatmates, who are Beah, Joan, Carol, Rhona, Naide, and Jeannette. Instead, I go with Hervin’s group. My seatmates grouped got the first place even though they performance is like a big error but it is quite entertaining. A week after the performance, Beah and the other members of the group adapted me as part of the Syntax Error—hala uyy!! (group of our friendship) because they noticed that I am also a big error and we are all a big error which is funny. So, that’s how it started. The house of Beah was our favorite place to hang out if we don’t have a class or our teacher would dismiss us early. We would play, eat, sleep, and take a bath time there. We call her......

Narrative Report

...week of my practice teaching experience.” As I was assigned in Vicente B. Ylagan National High School (VBYNHS), I discovered that practice teaching was a very crucial part of a student-teacher’s life. In the very first day of our practice teaching, 24th day of November 2014, together with my colleagues, daily schedule and subjects were given to us and we were assigned to our cooperating teachers. Based on my schedule’s list, I have a one-hour class period in the morning, from 8:20 to 9:20 for English class and two-hour class from 1:00 to 2:00 and another 3:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon for both MAPEH class. It was a big relief to have my minor subject-MAPEH because there were no computations anyway, but having its four components was not as easy as pie. And, the cooperating teachers that were given to me were Sir Jaypee Jimenez for my English subject and Sir Eleno Bandayrel for my MAPEH. Besides, on that day, we also met the professional teachers on that institution, few new colleagues and students with unfamiliar faces, and my major and minor class-9-Onyx and 9-Jade. Aside from that, we had figured out their classrooms, canteen and offices as well. As the time went on, I took the road of difficulties in each day: travel going to school and going back home, everyday expenses, daily learning plans, preparation of instructional materials, and dealing with the students’ misbehaviors—all those things were the causes of my tiring days, sleepless nights, and stress hours. However,...
