Statement of the Problem

The purpose of the study was to find out the impact of mothers- at-work and stay-at-home mothers with their children’s attitudes towards family and learning. It also looked for a program that would help in further strengthening the love of their children towards their mother.
Specifically, the study sought to answer the following:
1.Determine the profile of the respondents with regards to: a. mother – at - work b. stay – at - home
2.Determine the scores of attitudes of the respondents in terms of: a. family b. learning
3.Find the significant difference between the profile and attitudes of the respondents.
4.Develop a proposed program to be used as intervention based on the results of the study.

METHODOLOGY

Research Design This study used a descriptive survey method that utilized an attitude scale to determine the impact on the typical attitudes of the grades four to six students in their family and learning if the mothers are at work or at home and also to explain the relationship of attitudes of the intermediate pupils between the variables gender and grade level.
Sample and Sampling Procedure There were one hundred eighty-nine (189) students from grade four to grade six levels respondents currently enrolled at Southeastern College for the school year 2010-2011. There were sixty-four (64) students both in grades four and six levels and sixty-one (61) for grade five. The research had one hundred (100) male and eighty-nine (89) female respondents. The students were purposively chosen as respondents of the study.
Instrumentation
The instrument used was made by the researcher which composed of statements both for mothers– at - work and stay – at – home mothers. The researcher had preliminary survey with the respondents to be used in the final questionnaire. This questionnaire was validated by experts to ensure the appropriateness of each statement to the respondents.
Data Analysis To show the concrete results of the data that was gathered, the following statistical tools were used for the study: Weighted mean was used to determine the scores of attitudes on the different variables and its totality towards family and learning of both mother - at - work and stay - at - home mothers.
The two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to determine the significant difference between the profile and attitudes of the respondents.

Summary of Findings The following information gave the findings of this study based on the data gathered and analyzed.
1. From the total population of mothers of the respondents, there were one hundred thirty-two (132) mothers – at – work while stay – at – home mothers were fifty-one (51). The results showed that there were more mothers – at – work than stay – at – home mothers in grades four to six levels. The number of stay – at – home mothers in all levels was very small. It showed an eighty –one (81) big difference in the values between mother – at – work than in stay – at – home mothers which.
2. All mean scores of mothers – at – work were higher than stay – at – home mothers. The total mean score for mothers– at – work in family was 3.76 while stay – at – home mothers was 3.58. For learning, stay – at – home mothers had only 3.52 compared to mother – at – work which got 3.63. The highest computed mean was 3.81 both for the security and independence subvariables. The lowest computed mean of 3. 43 was for socialization. All scores fell under “agree” interpretation that indicated a positive outlook towards their mothers whether at - work or at - home. 2.1 The 3.77 mean score for mothers – at – work of grade four level students was the highest value in all levels while the same grade level had the lowest value of 3.55 in stay – at – home mothers. Grade five level with 4.01 reached the largest value. 2.2. The grade five level with 4.10 score had the greatest number in learning for mothers – at – work while the least value was achieved by grade six with 3.63. However, grade six level obtained the highest value of 3.86 in stay – at – home mothers. 2.3 The boys had higher mean score value of 3.84 than girls with 3.69 in attitudes toward family for mothers – at – work whereas girls had the greater value of 3.85 in stay – at – home mothers compared with boys with 3.80. 2.4 The girls showed higher mean score value of 3.85 in mothers – at – work and 3.76 in stay – at – home mothers in attitudes towards learning where boys had only 3.79 for mothers – at – work and 3.73 for stay – at – home mothers.
3. There was no significant difference between the attitudes of the respondents towards family and learning. 3.1 There was no significant effect of sex on the attitudes of the respondents towards family and learning. 3.2 There was no significant effect of grade level on the attitudes of the respondents towards family and learning. 3.3 There was no interaction effect of grade level on attitudes of the respondents towards family and learning.

Conclusions Based on the findings, the following conclusions are drawn:
1. There are more mothers – at – work than stay – at – home mothers in the mothers of the respondents.
2. Even if most of the mothers are working in the study, it shows that they are really accepted by their children. Based on the result, they understand the situation of the family whether the mother has a plenty of work at home and most especially if she also earns for a living. The respondents show the love and understanding that they can offer to their mothers despite of their busy schedule both in the workplace and at home.
3. The mothers – at – work and stay – at – home mothers have an impact in the attitudes towards family and learning of the students. Based on the respondents own experiences, they were able to answer the questionnaire freely and sincerely.
4. The SOME (Strengthening Oneself through Mother’s Enduring) Love Program concentrates on the indicators which show negative impact towards mothers – at – work and stay – at – home mothers. This is a tool to appreciate more mother’s work and love for the family and help their mothers as well in their own little way in attending to their needs as a child.

Recommendations The following recommendations are hereby suggested in the light of the foregoing findings and conclusions:
1.The proposed activities and lessons in the SOME (Strengthening Oneself through Mother’s Enduring) Love Program may be used by the guidance counselors or teachers to help the students appreciate more the role of a mother and attend to their needs as children in their own little way.
2. Teachers should be provided with seminars wherein topics are based on the results that show negative impact towards mother whether working or not. This would help them deal with the problems of the children at home especially towards their mother.
3. The researcher should provide seminars for the mothers to help them deal better with concerns of their children. This can build closer relationship between mothers and their children. A good partnership between school and home is necessary to help a sound development of the students.
4. Studies can also be conducted using the following:
a. The impact of mothers – at – work and stay – at – home mothers in the attitudes of high school students towards family and learning.
b. The impact of working and non-working fathers in the attitudes of intermediate students towards family and learning.
c. The correlation of mothers and intermediate students on the impact of mothers – at – work and stay – at – homes mother towards family and learning.
d. The validation of SOME Love program.

Among the most honorable characters: Posthumous, Imogen, Guiderius, and Arviragus, we find that only Posthumous seems to have the only recognizable character flaw in bargaining off his wife for gold. In almost all respects, the children of Cymbeline are perfect characters within the Elizabethan patriarchal ideal. The three of them have an incomplete parentage in the play, having an absent mother, and being displaced in the case of the boys. With the role of motherhood being so very important to child-development, the question becomes: how did these perfect characters get this way without the essential role of the mother? Of course in the heavily misogynistic society, the mother plays the part of enemy even in parenting, as the female body and character is something that must be conquered in order to successfully rear virtuous sons.
