Electives in Organizational Leadership: OLED 310 – Media Outlets: Theory and Practice OLED 375 – Conflict and Negotiation OLED 340 – Persuasion and Presentation Skills OLED 378 – Power and Influence OLED 360 – Evidence-based Decision-making OLED 382 – Special Topics Course OLED 368/CMRC 330 – Organization Behavior OLED 385 – Social Media Strategies OLED 372/CMRC 340– Organization Development or Transitions: TRDV 435 The Transitions Program is designed for Organizational Leadership or Organizational Communication majors who are planning to immediately continue on to graduate school in the Masters of Arts in Training and Development or Masters of Public Administration program at Roosevelt. The program allows students to use three cross-listed graduate-level courses in the undergraduate degree program and apply those courses toward the graduate degree program. It is required that students be accepted in to the Transitions program and obtain permission from the Program Director of Training and Development or Public Administration prior to enrolling in the cross-listed courses. Students must apply to the Transitions program after their third OLED course, maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.0 and write a personal goal statement that is accepted by the Training and Development program or an essay for the Public Administration program. At the conclusion of the Organizational Leadership Degree students are required to formally apply to the Training and Development Program or Public Administration. Policies Applicable to all Fast-Track Bachelor of Arts Degrees in the College of Professional Studies
   Students should be 24 years of age when they start the Fast-Track Bachelor of Arts majors in the College of Professional Studies. New students should take the Roosevelt University Assessment test before registering for their first semester. Students will not be allowed to register for a second semester until the RUA is completed. To graduate from Roosevelt University, students must successfully complete their final 30 semester hours of credit at Roosevelt (residency requirement), must complete a minimum of 21 semester hours of coursework at the 300-level at Roosevelt, and must have a 2.0 grade point average. Minor: To earn a Minor, a student must complete all requirements as listed in the Roosevelt University Catalog. Not all Minors are available in the Adult Program during 8-week terms. Minors currently available in the 8-week calendar are: Organizational Leadership, Sustainability Studies, and Criminal Justice. Functional Area: The Functional Area is defined as a sequence of related courses in a discipline or an interdisciplinary area, with a maximum of three subject areas allowed. For example, students may elect six courses in one discipline like Sociology (and may earn a Minor, if requirements are met). Or students may choose six courses in an interdisciplinary area like the Humanities (combining courses in, say, Speech, Literature, and Gender Studies). Appropriate Functional Areas will be approved by an Academic Advisor in consultation with the Program Director. OLED 320 may substitute as one course in any Functional Area. Transfer Credit: Appropriate transfer credit may be used to satisfy requirements throughout the curriculum. Six credit hours of 200-level (or above) transfer credit in an appropriate discipline may be used to satisfy one senior seminar sequence (i.e. PLS 350 and 351). Transfer credit may be used to satisfy senior seminar sequences only if General Elective requirements are already met to achieve 120 semester hours of total college credit. 2/22/2014
