Predictive Sales Report
A retail store has recently hired you as a consultant to advice on economic conditions. One important indicator that the retail store is concerned about is the unemployment rate. The retail store has found that an increase in the unemployment rate will cause a lack of consumer spending in their stores. Retail stores use the unemployment rate to estimate how much inventory to keep at their stores, which is important in maintaining cost effectiveness. In this consultant role you will apply calculations and research to create a predictive sales report. * The mean yearly value using the average unemployment rate by month Year (x) | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec | Annual (y) | 1948 | 3.4 | 3.8 | 4.0 | 3.9 | 3.5 | 3.6 | 3.6 | 3.9 | 3.8 | 3.7 | 3.8 | 4.0 | 3.75 | 1949 | 4.3 | 4.7 | 5.0 | 5.3 | 6.1 | 6.2 | 6.7 | 6.8 | 6.6 | 7.9 | 6.4 | 6.6 | 6.05 | 1950 | 6.5 | 6.4 | 6.3 | 5.8 | 5.5 | 5.4 | 5.0 | 4.5 | 4.4 | 4.2 | 4.2 | 4.3 | 5.21 | 1951 | 3.7 | 3.4 | 3.4 | 3.1 | 3.0 | 3.2 | 3.1 | 3.1 | 3.3 | 3.5 | 3.5 | 3.1 | 3.28 | 1952 | 3.2 | 3.1 | 2.9 | 2.9 | 3.0 | 3.0 | 3.2 | 3.4 | 3.1 | 3.0 | 2.8 | 2.7 | 3.03 | 1953 | 2.9 | 2.6 | 2.6 | 2.7 | 2.5 | 2.5 | 2.6 | 2.7 | 2.9 | 3.1 | 3.5 | 4.5 | 2.93 | 1954 | 4.9 | 5.2 | 5.7 | 5.9 | 5.9 | 5.6 | 5.8 | 6.0 | 6.1 | 5.7 | 5.3 | 5.0 | 5.59 | 1955 | 4.9 | 4.7 | 4.6 | 4.7 | 4.3 | 4.2 | 4.0 | 4.2 | 4.1 | 4.3 | 4.2 | 4.2 | 4.37 | 1956 | 4.0 | 3.9 | 4.2 | 4.0 | 4.3 | 4.3 | 4.4 | 4.1 | 3.9 | 3.9 | 4.3 | 4.2 | 4.13 | 1957 | 4.2 | 3.9 | 3.7 | 3.9 | 4.1 | 4.3 | 4.2 | 4.1 | 4.4 | 4.5 | 5.1 | 5.2 | 4.30 | 1958 | 5.8 | 6.4 | 6.7 | 7.4 | 7.4 | 7.3 | 7.5 | 7.4 | 7.1 | 6.7 | 6.2 | 6.2 | 6.84 | 1959 | 6.0 | 5.9 | 5.6 | 5.2 | 5.1 | 5.0 | 5.1 | 5.2 | 5.5 | 5.7 | 5.8 | 5.3 | 5.45 | 1960 | 5.2 | 4.8 | 5.4 | 5.2 | 5.1 | 5.4 | 5.5 | 5.6 | 5.5 | 6.1 | 6.1 | 6.6 | 5.54 |…...

Sales Report

...Dear E-Marketing student, This assignment is about comparing. You have to compare the websites of two competing companies with each other. It is an individual assignment and each student gets an individual grade. First part of the assignment is to compare the online presence of two different companies in the same line of business. For instance, compare the websites and everything available online of British Airways and Lufthansa. Find out what they offer to their customers and in what way. Check the navigation within their websites, the user friendliness, the graphics, and so on. But do also check the contents of these websites: do they offer products that are suitable for selling online anyway? Do also check famous e-commerce sites like amazon.com, bookings.com or expedia.com and others and check how they have found solutions for certain problems. Explain what you think is good and wrong and how it could be better and why, based on the theory in your reader and what has been discussed during the E-Marketing classes. In other words, come up with your personal opinion, which is, of course, a well founded opinion. In this personal opinion you also have to come up with directions for improvement. Part 2 The second part of this assignment is the comparison of the same two companies separately (so, for each one apart) between what these companies have promised in their vision / mission statement and business goals and what they are actually doing ‘in real life’ with......

This structure is ultimately going to be used as a barn for horses. I found what I wanted at Midway Motors in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Midway Motors is a dealer who prepares orders for their customers. I already knew some information about the carport Midway had for sale because I had a brochure and I also did some research on the internet before I went to talk to a sales person. This report is based on the purchasing of a carport. Probing Questions: Open ended and close ended I told the sales person I was looking for a carport to use as a beginning structure for a horse barn. To relieve my uncertainty and doubt about this product the sales person then informed me these structures are very popular in our area for the purpose I want to use it for. I was given basic general information about the product which is the dimensions of the carport which are 18 x21x 6 including overhung boxed eaves. Additionally, there are also thirteen different colors to choose from. The salesman also gave me an initial cost for the size structure I wanted. Customer Pain/Needs and Quantitative Questions: I wanted to know the price of the carport because I have a limited budget. In fact, its e-commerce and social network capabilities strongly influence competitive strategies and the efficiency of operations. As a result, police departments have applied IT in an effort to optimize their departments’ performance to reduce crime. To do so, police departments are using IT for the following reasons: it stores the data of the previous crimes in a single location for easy access, but with street patrolling accessing of data regarding previous crimes takes some extra efforts because the data is not in a single location. With IT we can apply certain logics and calculations on the collected data to come up with some predictions, but with street patrolling, based on the previous data and experience we can come up with some predictions, and the output of such a predication is a report that gives the location and time of where the crime will occur. With IT reports are available and the prediction is made on the data available and experience. As new crimes occur, they are updated so as to produce an accurate report for the future crimes. Predictive Policing

...Police departments across the country are trying to find ways to combat crime, this paper will address two preventive measures namely, predictive policing and compstat. “Predictive policing, in essence, is taking data from disparate sources, analyzing them and then using results to anticipate, prevent and respond more effectively to future crime,” (Pearsall, B, May 2010). It was never meant to replace police officers but to give those officers opportunities to improve policing. “The police department in Santa Cruz, California, has begun an experiment that uses a mathematical algorithm to predict when and where certain crimes will be committed, and puts police on the scene before they happen,” (Shurkin, J.N. September 13, 2011). Some years ago there was a T V show called Numbers and they solved crimes using a mathematical algorithm. The compstat model was not designed to replace police officers but to improve their jobs. “CompStat model is a management process within a performance management framework that synthesizes analysis of crime and disorder data, strategic problem solving, and a clear accountability structure,” (Weisburd 2003). These methods were designed to help police officers stop crimes before they happened. By comparing information technology to optimize performance to reduce crime versus patrolling the streets,” Compstat provided a road map to getting officers back to fighting crime. It also held police managers accountable for fighting crime,” (Willis, J.......
