Rosemary
Rosemary or rosmarinus officinalis is a woody, perennial herb with fragrant, evergreen, needle-like leaves and white, pink, purple, or blue flowers. Rosemary is also a member of the mint family Lamiaceae. The word rosemary derives from the Latin for “dew” and “sea” or “dew of the sea” because in many locations, it needs no water other than the humidity carried by the sea breeze to live. (3)
Rosemary contains many good healing properties and benefits. It contains substances that are useful for stimulating the immune system, increasing circulation, and improving digestion. Thanks to its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-carcinogenic properties, rosemary boosts overall health of body. Essential oil of rosemary can be applied topically as a natural treatment for arthritis, sore muscles, and other joint and muscle pains such as myalgia, sciatica, and intercostal neuralgia. It can also be used externally for skin irritations such as eczema. Breathing the scent of the essential oil may help with congestion due to colds, allergies, respiratory infections, and the flu. (1)
Rosemary is a popular agent in anti-aging creams as it helps reduce puffiness, stimulates cell regeneration, increases firmness, and improves overall skin tone. Infused rosemary oil is an intensive treatment for dandruff. Rosemary is a mild diuretic that gets rid of bloating and water retention. (2)
“Rosemary contains carnosol which has been found in studies to be a potent anti-cancer compound. Researchers have had promising results in studies of its efficacy against breast cancer, prostate cancer, colon cancer, leukemia, and skin cancer. In one study, researchers gave powdered rosemary to rats for two weeks and found that it reduced the binding of the carcinogen given to the rats by 76% and significantly inhibited the formation of breast tumors. Studies have also found that rosemary has powerful antibacterial properties against H. pylori, bacteria that cause stomach ulcers, and Staph infections. Rosemary has also been used to treat liver problems for hundreds of years. One study found that rosemary extract reduces cirrhosis in rats given thioacetamide, a toxic compound that is toxic to the liver. It also prevented liver damage from tetrachloride in rats and mice”. (2)
For the most part, rosemary is considered safe with no side effects; however pregnant women should avoid consuming large amounts because it may possibly lead to uterine contractions and miscarriage. Also, people with high blood pressure should not take rosemary because it may raise their blood pressure. The undiluted oil is unsafe to take by mouth. Taking large amounts of rosemary can cause vomiting, uterine bleeding, kidney irritation, increased sun sensitivity, skin redness, and allergic reactions. (5)

...to become a corporate company. When entrepreneurs like Rosemary enters the market with limited sources, the very important thing is to create a team. The team members should be professional of their business in accordance with the jobs that they are doing. Rosemary is an instructor and she also hired 5 instructors to run the classes and training sessions. It is very suitable to hire instructors for training. And training is also a field that Rosemary has experience. Apart from them, she hired Kate Hoffman who also has an instructor experience and a close friend of her. Rosemary has given the marketing, facility up keep, scheduling and record keeping responsibilities to her. Although Kate has no experience on those specialized fields, Rosemary also has a limited knowledge about those tasks. It is very dangerous for a manager to give disproportionate responsibilities to the employees. If as a manager or company owner, you are not an expert on the marketing, accounting, human resources and other department’s functions, it is a good idea to hire professionals or receive consultancy. To run a company, it is not only enough to know the technical functionalities. The company should at least have a trustable accountant and cash handler in order to control the money flow. Since Rosemary is not an accountant it is very easy for her to lose the control about the company records. It is very clear that Kate is telling lie to Rosemary and unfortunately she has no records to proof Kate......

A Cup of Tea

...extract is drown from life. The main characters are: Rosemary Fell a rich woman, her husband Philip and a poor girl - Miss Smith. There are some secondary characters too: a housemaid and the seller. Young and rich woman Rosemary invites a beggar to her home on the "cup of tea" just for fun. The beggar is the young girl. Her name is Miss Smith. And when Rosemary’s husband discovers that uninvited guest - a young and very pretty girl, Rosemary finds a reason to show the door beggar. The text can be divided into 3 parts. In the first part there is a description of Rosemary, her appearance and family. At the second part we learn about her desire to help the poor girl and in the last part we learn about Rosemary’s worry for Philip’s words. I think that this story reveals the women’s essence and not every man can understand this story. The woman is afraid of losing her man. And there are no any circumstances to force her to leave the rival next to her husband. The author uses some special stylistic devices: There are imperatives: (“Come and sit down.” “Don’t cry.” “Do stop crying.” “Kiss me.”) In the dialogues between Rosemary and Mrs. Smith there are a lot of questions (“Would you let me have the price of a cup tea?” “A cup of tea? Then have you no money at all?”) Mrs. Smith uses polite requests such as: “May I speak to you a moment?” “Would you let me have the price of a cup of tea?” Exclamations are used by Rosemary to express her ideas: (“Charming!”“How......

... Discussion To run this simple privately-held business, Rosemary does not have to be concerned with generally accepted accounting principles. She does need to keep records that will allow the easy preparation of a tax return. But her primary concern should be in maintaining systems records that allow her to manage the business effectively. These include the following: 1. Scheduling system. What instructors, and other employees, should be on duty at what hours? When should classes of particular types be scheduled? What rooms should be used for what purposes at what hours? When should facility cleaning and maintenance be scheduled? What is the capacity utilization? Are more space, equipment, or instructors needed? 2. Revenue system. Revenue is dependent on the number of clients attending classes and private workouts. 3. Payroll system. What pay is due the employees? Most of the compensation is commission-based, paid as a percentage of revenue associated with the instructor’s activities. But the manager, Kate Hoffman, is also paid a salary. 4. Operating cost system. Bills for on-going items, like rent, heat, and light, need to be paid on time. The expenses need to be recorded accurately and tracked over time so that trends can be monitored. 5. Fixed asset system. The costs of the facility and equipment need to be assigned to time periods. Issues that might be raised: 1. How often should Rosemary prepare summary financial statements (e.g., monthly,......

A Cup of Tea

...A Cup Of Tea Born to privilege, Rosemary Fell had wealth, fortune and many well-known friends. First she is described as a neither beautiful woman nor unsightly. As she went through her normal shopping day she happened to encounter a poor girl who asked her for the price of a cup of tea. After a few thoughts, Rosemary decided to offer her a ride to her house and take good care of her. As they were talking in Mrs. Fell’s room, Rosemary’s husband entered the room and asked to speak to her. He tried to convince her that she is making a big mistake in taking care of this penniless girl. Moreover, he described her as “ astonishingly” pretty. Him saying that changed the way Rosemary felt toward the girl. Hence she decided to enter her writing room and write her a check in order not to see her once again. After she was done she groomed herself. She did her hair, darkened her eyes, and decorated herself with some rich pearls. She then announced to her husband that the girl is not going to dine with them anymore. At the end of the story, since she felt jealous from the poor girl she asked her husband if he found her pretty or not. My comment: This story tends to bring out at first the way the rich people lived back in the days. The writer portrays that they could get anything that their heart desired, no matter what price. Then we were shown the good and caring side of some rich people. For Rosemary did overlook the situation of the poor girl, but on the contrary......
