It is based on the law of attraction and claims that positive thinking can create life-changing results such as increased wealth, health, and happiness. The book has sold more than 19 million copies worldwide and has been translated into 44 languages, but has nevertheless attracted a great deal of controversy, as well as being parodied in several TV programs. About the Author Rhonda Byrne (born 12 March 1951) is an Australian television writer and producer, best known for her New Thought works, The Secret—a book and a film by the same name. By the spring of 2007 the book had sold more than 19 million copies and the DVD more than 2 million. She has also been a producer for Sensing Murder.  According to an article published by Australia's Herald Sun, Byrne has also worked on the Australian TV series World's Greatest Commercials and Marry Me. The Secret

...The Secret can be helpful for those who are looking to develop a positive attitude and create a winning mind set. By being more hopeful they would increase their chances of excelling in what they set out to do. The secret can also help an individual’s creativity to improve because it can inspire them to see things differently. For a client who is doubtful about their own potential as a person, it could empower them to see the good in themselves. The motivational messages presented in this movie can be very powerful in helping people overcome their challenges. The movie speaks of a breast cancer survivor and “The Miracle Man” who used the secret and became healthy again .Although this may not seem convincing, it could bring hope to person’s life. Although this movie is a great self help guide, I wouldn’t recommend it to a client. If they experienced a devastating situation in their life it could be very troubling for them to believe that they attracted it. The movie states that all the negative experiences in our life are due to us attracting it. This means that the victims of 9/11, cancer patients, and every victim of the Haiti catastrophe, were the creators of their own suffering. They also say that it is life changing to accept it as our own mistake. I believe that these suggestions are completely wrong. Nobody would want to attract illness, disaster, or hardship into their life. In this part, I think the secret is mistaken. In conclusion, I think that the secret is a......

A Secret

...Basically: - Thoughts become things... Whatever you dwell on will manifest into real life events, be it good or bad. - Law of attraction states that when you think of good things, good things come to you. Dwell on the bad, depressing or keep giving out negative energy, bad things will happen to you. Ok it sounds like some enlightenment scripture crap so far but here's the awesome part... - You can attract into your life EVERYTHING you have dreamed of if you use The Secret, and use it well. You can have money, looks, love, career, health - ANYTHING. You can even wish for a harem or a spaceship. The secret isn't like religion, it doesn't judge. It doesn't care about whether you are a good person or a paedophile. You just need to follow the instructions. And what are the instructions? You start by asking. You ask the universe for what you want, and it will find a way to deliver it to you. You don't have to figure out how to achieve it, the universe will just GUIDE you there. Don't believe it? When Walt Disney first put pencil to paper and drew a mouse, do you think he ever envisioned or planned the route to movie empires or giant theme parks? No, he had a dream, and the universe made it happen for him. After asking you virtualize, try to imagine yourself already obtaining your wish. Never ever do "negative" wishes ie "I don't want to be poor" because if you keep thinking you are poor, you will constantly be. Change it to "I want to be rich!"...

...What is a secret? A secret is something that is kept or meant to be kept unknown or unseen by others. Secrets can be a good thing or it can be a bad thing. Secrets should only be confided in someone you know and can trust. The secret I had , had the biggest impact on my life . It almost killed me. That was best part of the night! We all sat in a circle and started talking about our secrets. It was my friend, Crystal's turn . She had seem distant the whole night . It was almost like she was nervous about something and didn't want to talk. Before she told us her secret she made us promise not to tell anyone her secret so everyone promised. I was anxious to hear what her secret was because she like to keep secrets. She was scared to talk about it at first , but then she begin her story. Crystal's secret was that she killed her dad . Reflection

...Reflection While writing my summary I was cautious about how the wording. I now have a better understanding of plagiarism and learned new ways to prevent plagiarism. When writing papers in high school it was important to cite my work but I never had a full understanding of why I was required to cite. I now feel more comfortable and confident and realize how important it is to take my time and allow enough time to write a paper. One tool that helped me in a big way to cite correctly was using the tutor.com service. The tutor that helped me was very informative and when I had questioned author and date I wanted to confirm that I had not missed anything. She went to the website that I had listed on my document and took the time to watch it. She told me that she didn’t see the date or author as well and therefore told me that the way that I had cited was correct. The part that I had missed was “retrieved from” and she asked me to list that. She helped me with my content and suggested that I reword specific sentences. Then once I had made the corrections to my paper I turned it into safe assign. I was not sure what to expect and had seen information about it but was impressed with how safe assign is able to access documents to confirm that someone’s work wasn’t plagiarized. Based on the results that I received the only book that it listed was one that only had a portion of my sentence and didn’t have any correlation to what my summary was about. The title that was......

The film is focused on a character named François, and occurs over many years. It starts in the 1950's where. François is a young and shy boy and doesn't seem to meet the expectations of his athletic father, Maxime. You can tell that there is a weird relationship between the boy and his father and even between the father and the mother, Tina. François however has an imaginary friend who is pretty much an upgrade from him. Eventually his neighbor, who knows his parents, tells François the "secret". During the 1930's, Maxime married a woman named Hannah and has a Jewish wedding. Eventually, Hannah introduces Maxime to her brother Robert and Robert's wife Tania. Hannah and Maxime have a son, Simon. World War II unravels and France slowly becomes occupied. Robert and Maxime are sent away to fight in the war, and Maxime only makes it back. The Secret

...THE SECRET by Rhonda Byrne - Reaction Paper The Secret is a book written by Rhonda Byrne, which is known as the best-selling book in 2006. I was amazed when I entered the classroom and found out that we’ll be viewing/watching the DVD about The Secret. I have heard about this documentary since I was in 3rd year college and by this time I finally got the chance to watch a masterpiece. I wanted to watch this since but I never had the chance to because I got so busy with school activities but right now I think I am lucky that I am a part who knows The Secret and I am thankful to know it.  To begin with, The Secret is a life changing, it makes you financially independent, it let your mind powerful and lastly, it will make you successful. The Secret is kept hidden from thousands of people and they let their ignorance spread to people; it was buried, coveted, suppressed and it was never revealed to the public. According to Bob Proctor, a philosopher, the secret gives you anything you want; happiness, health, and wealth. He also said that “we become what we think”, which means whatever we think it predict our future. The law of Attraction is The Secret; what we see, hold, or even our thoughts are equivalent to what we need, want or even demand and it attracts to you. Like what I watched and jotted down, an optimistic thought is a thousand’s more powerful than pessimistic thought. The more you think, the more it will happen because the universe is reacting to what you want;......

...of paper documents which traditionally are kept in office and library files, and this is the source of the term. Etymology A punched card file The twin disk files of an IBM 305 system The word "file" was used publicly in the context of computer storage as early as February, 1950. In an RCA (Radio Corporation of America) advertisement in Popular Science Magazine[1] describing a new "memory" vacuum tube it had developed, RCA stated: "...the results of countless computations can be kept "on file" and taken out again. Such a "file" now exists in a "memory" tube developed at RCA Laboratories. Electronically it retains figures fed into calculating machines, holds them in storage while it memorizes new ones - speeds intelligent solutions through mazes of mathematics." In 1952, "file" was used in referring to information stored on punched cards.[2] In early usage, people regarded the underlying hardware (rather than the contents) as a file. For example, the IBM 350 disk drives were called "disk files".[3] In about 1961 the Burroughs MCP and the MIT Compatible Time-Sharing System introduced the concept of a "file system", which managed several virtual "files" on one storage device, giving the term its present-day meaning. Although the current term "register file" shows the early concept of files, it has largely disappeared. The word ultimately comes from the Latin filum "a thread".[4] File contents Identifying and organizing files Protecting......

...boundaries and leads to better communication and therefore a better outcome for the patient. (Pullen & Mathias, 2010) Being able to reflect upon situations is vital in the role of the nurse. Being able to examine personal thoughts and perceptions enables the nurse to have greater self awareness and build upon strengths and develop personal and professional competencies. (Somerville, D. et al 2004) Reflection has been described as being able to think about a situation, make sense of it and ultimately learn from it. (Clarke and Graham 1996) Taking a period of time to reflect and review a situation allows a person to move on and through the learning experience, become a better practitioner (Bulman et al 2012) By being able to reflect and ask myself what would I do differently or could my practice have been better will only help to develop my skills and knowledge and influence my future as a practitioner in a positive way. Having looked at several reflective models of learning, such as Gibbs (1988), Driscoll (2000) and Dewey, I have decided to use the Kolb (1984) model of reflection throughout this assignment. Kolb's (1984) experiential theory of learning has four distinct stages of a cycle. This incorporates an actual learning experience; being involved in a situation, then observing someone one else in that situation, reflecting upon the experience; thinking and analysing your feelings and learning from that experience, providing a holistic approach to......
