Senior-Ites

...slip for being late. But lingering in the hallways is an imaginary disease embedded only in the senior class. The symptoms are well recognized by the faculty; tardiness, little to no work completed in class, turning in assignments late, and an overall lethargic attitude rapidly spread from student to student as the end of the school year nears. Unfortunately, the repercussions of their actions are not as innocent as some seniors like to believe. Senioritis has short-term as well as long-term damage on their academic attainment such as loss of college acceptance, difficulties with college level classes, lack of desire to further education and a continued apathetic attitude towards the end of any undertaking. To understand why senioritis is so destructive to a senior’s future, it should first be identified. Senioritis is defined as an imaginary syndrome attributed to students nearing the end of high school and college, whose symptoms include laziness, procrastination and apathy toward schoolwork. Towards the end of the senior year of high school, many seniors have already been accepted into colleges, have plans to study a certain area or will already have jobs lined up for them when they graduate high school. Many are so focused on the future that the present is no longer important to them. English class doesn’t hold value to a future car mechanic. Biology is irrelevant to the senior pursuing the dream of being an artist. They have a strong desire to free themselves from the......

I knew when we were told about senior project, I would I pick something to do with cancer. I have always gone and visited cancer patients. Every time I went to visit, I found myself being interested in learning about the children and how they face cancer. I have been learning ways that help cancer patients cope with their sickness. My community mentor works at several hospitals. He helps children by doing different therapies and also setting them up with therapy sessions. I have spent over twenty hours job shadowing him. For my product, I made a flyer describing the insights they’ve learned and challenges they’ve faced as they’ve lived through cancer. This project is a project we have all dreaded since we heard that we would have to do it. But little did we know it was actually the best project that I have ever done in my life. I am so glad we got to do senior project. It has taught me a lot, and not just about cancer. It has taught me how to care, appreciate the things in life, stay positive, and never give up. Thanks to this project and my senior year, I’ve never appreciated life as much as I do now. Senior Project

...As apart of our senior project we have dedicated a special part of it to raising money strictly for Special Olympics by hosting events. But another major part of our project is charity links. The idea of charity links to most people is simple but much more thought and effort will go into this part than you would expect. We have previously explained in our essay plans why we are doing the charity links but the information we have lacked to present to you is how we will put this on. we have a commons area in front of our cafeteria and it is common that clubs and events sell products out there so this just what we plan to do. We will set up a table out there and sell links between lunches and even possibly classes. Just like all good fund raising stragies we will advertise that we are selling these charity links for a good cause and explain briefly why and how. We plan to make announcements during lunch and hang posters around the school and even possibly get in contact with the media kids to make an announcement for us. That’s how we plan to raise money by using our charming charity links in school so we can make a reasonable sized donation to Special Olympics through BPA we hope to raise at least $100. Senior Project The point in a senior project is to relate back to your tech area, we have taken BFM for the last 4 years starting at the end of our freshman year and ending in may of our senior year. Seniors on the Rise

...Seniors on the Rise Their or three psychological shifts that need to be made when comfortably settling into aging gracefully. The first shift that needs to be made is shifting from work to a self-differentiation. Self-differentiation involves older people having the ability to separate themselves from their peers to have them be better psychologically and emotionally more adjusted. Being emotionally and psychologically well rounded tends to create higher self-esteem and eliminates self-doubt and negative stereotypes that are associated with old age. Some of the common stereotypes about being old relate to the decline in physical, cognitive, and social functioning. Those concerns are not that much of a concern with older adults that continue to remain active and positively engaged. A second adjustment involves shifting from body preoccupation to body transcendence. In this stage elderly people move from a state of questioning their aging features and self-doubt to acceptance. In this stage the individual makes the focus about self while still interacting and engaging family and having strong social networks. They are still able to enjoy their lives despite their declining health and physical appearance. The third adjustment involves shifting from self-preoccupation to self-transcendence. At this stage the elder adult realize that death is something that must be addressed. While some elderly people choose to have their families deal with the role of death and dying......

...Government Accounting Terms Most government accounting terms are a bit more obscure than people tend to use in their day-to-day life. Chances are, if you’ve had to discuss taxes or another financial matter with a government accountant, by the time the conversation was over you were left feeling like your head was spinning trying to grasp exactly what the accountant was talking about. Just listening to a budget plan put forth by a government accountant can confuse some people, and many simply don’t understand the terminology that government accountants use. Common Government Accounting Terms Below is a brief explanation of some of the most commonly used government accounting terms. Fiscal Year Most of the time when people consider a year’s time, they automatically think of January 1st to December 31st. However, if you’ve heard the term “fiscal year” in a budget plan during a budget meeting, this accounting term refers to the 1 year period designated by the government to be their full budget year. The federal government operates on a fiscal year that begins October 1st and ends on September 31th. Most state and local governments operate on a fiscal year basis beginning on July 1st and ending on June 30th, but this is not a mandated time frame. General Fund General fund is another of the accounting terms used by the government which you should know. The general fund is the allotment of funds designated to cover a government jurisdiction’s primary costs. Items typically......
