Scenario Evaluation Plan

...Scenario Evaluation Plan Karen Crawford HSM/270 Dakira Starks-Walker 12/29/2012 As you read this paper you will find that it is going to be about a fictional program scenario that I have chosen to work with. The scenario that I have chosen is scenario three PEACE Domestic Violence Agency. Also it will be comparing program planning with program evaluation in human services organizations and how the components are related. It will be identifying specific examples of how program planning and evaluation interrelate in the scenario that was chosen. Last it will be identifying technical and political aspects of program planning and evaluation that may be encountered in the scenario and how the aspects could affect the planning and evaluation process. After reviewing the material provided about program planning and program evaluation in human service organizations it seems as though they do compare to each other. According to the reading it states that “When planned carefully, these two set of activities can be integrated into an organized set of ongoing operations that promote and support each other” (Mika, 1996, p. 6). “Program planning and evaluation are both the process and the product of the political and economic environments” (Yuen & Terao, 2003). So from what can be understood they both are a process, but they do differ in how they process things in an organization. They way that both of the components are related is once one has his or her plan in order then...

Scenario Evaluation Plan

...enario Scenario Evaluation Plan 3/4/13 HSM/270 Dakira Starks-Walker Scenario Evaluation Plan Evaluation is one of the most important steps in the development and implementation of any program or project. As imperative as it is to lay a solid foundation through mission, goals, and objectives, it is equally as important to have a way to define success or failure through use of appropriate tools, accurate reporting, and proper evaluation techniques. Deciding whether to use a process evaluation format or outcome evaluation can be challenging, but often a coordinated system is most telling. The main objective of any evaluation technique is to provide the state of the agency and how well or poorly their programs are working, what may need to be changed, and how well they continue to meet their mission, goals and objectives. The PEACE Domestic Violence is an organization to reduce victim trauma, empower survivors, and promote recovery through direct services. PEACE is committed to reducing the incidence of sexual assault and domestic violence through education and strives to challenge societal norms and beliefs that condone and perpetuate violence in the community. The mission, goals, and objectives that are presented in the scenario are fairly generalized. Without an adequate, detailed description of how the program will be administrated and implemented, it is nearly impossible to perform a process evaluation. Process evaluations serve to collect the......

As a midlevel sales manager, part of my jobs and responsibilities are to select new members for my sales team and create a development plan to help my team succeed with the company’s new strategy. In other to accomplish these objectives, certain things have to be in their right places. Evaluation and Training Plan for a Safer Workplace

...Evaluation and training plan for a safer workplace By Laura Leyland Introduction I have previously worked for a Chinese restaurant of which I was manager. The restaurant is owned by a couple, the husband being the head chef and the wife managing the business side, along with their daughter to manage the bar and the four kitchen hands and chefs, also family members, this is a tightly run family business. The eight causal waitresses were mainly high school students and only two over 18 year olds to manage the bar. The waitresses’ duties included customer service, setting tables, dishes, phone orders for takeaway, dining in orders, serving drinks and food, checking on and clearing tables. The business is singularly run. The restaurant prides itself on serving authentic Cantonese cuisine within their relaxed, comfortable dining environment. The restaurant could hold around 60 guests with the option of an over flow room, if not having been hired out for a function, could also hold another 50 guests. Open for dinner six nights a week, and Sunday lunch. The restaurants environment is set as fun for all the family while the working environment could get to be more stressful than necessary. Lengths of shifts could range from two-seven hours depending on how busy the night got. Although shifts barely went longer than five hours, breaks for staff were something that was not managed well. Waitresses complained that the owner did not respect them or take responsibility if she was...

Career Development Plan Part I—Job Analysis and Selection

...Career Development Plan Part I—Job Analysis and Selection HRM/531 Human Capital Management November 29, 2010 Career Development Plan Part I—Job Analysis and Selection Merging two successful organizations requires forethought and planning. The sales division within each company generates the revenue to promote future growth and ultimate success for this venture. Developing the perfect sales team by balancing the requirements of the position with the level of talent each salesperson brings to the team provides a dynamic team geared for a positive outcome. The workforce planning system measures each candidate's potential, past success, and abilities to perform the necessary tasks. In addition to candidate review, measurement of the position itself by the human resources division allows for an accurate determination relating to the candidate list. To ensure a positive outcome, this workforce planning system will go into effect immediately. Job analysis Many options are available to analysis what a particular position entails. For example, human resources managers can interview current employees within that position, issuing current employees questionnaires relating to specific job functions, observation of the position, and collecting information on the background of current employees relating to daily tasks, such as statements of duties. ...and proceed to apply the correct solution to help their organizations grow. In today’s challenge-wrought environment managers and the business organizations under their leadership have to devise and execute complex critical organizational strategies. Executing these strategies is essential to the healthy growth of all organizations, and program management is the essential tool that can ensure the proper execution of the critical strategies that achieve organizational growth. Successful program management involves choosing projects that support the organization’s strategic intents in order of their importance to these strategic intents. Effective implementation of projects/programs involves the use of both technical and social expertise. Project managers must plan and budget projects and secure and coordinate the contributions of the project/program’s team members (Gray & Larson, 2006). Program management by definition is about pinpointing, qualifying, and dedicating time and resources to projects / programs that focus on the business strategy. More than that, however, program managers accomplish this by measuring organizational resource demand, capacity, capability, and performance to ensure that projects / programs are collectively meeting the business strategy. Measuring these factors allows project managers to identify and adjust projects / programs that are not meeting business objectives and commitments. Finally project managers ensure that......

Scenario Evaluation Plan

...Scenario Evaluation Plan Deanna Potter HSM 270 Septemeber 3, 2015 Florence Wisn Scenario Evaluation Plan One of the most important steps that need to be developed and implemented in a program is the evaluation plan. The evaluation plan will tell if a program has been a failure or success. Having the right tools with accurate reporting, plus making sure no bases has played a role in the evaluation, will tell you if the programs missions and goals have been achieved or not. PEACE Domestic Violence agencies have a purpose, and the purpose of the Peace Domestic Violence Agency is helping provide the victims with support, shelter, advocacy and education. Giving the victims and those who are affected by domestic violence empowerment will also help them to break away from the abuse. There is a wide range of evaluations that can be used, and it would be best to do some research on the different types to see what works best for the agency or organization. The evaluation plan that would work best for the PEACE Domestic Violence Agency would be a project-wide evaluation with an empowerment approach. A project-wide evaluation will work with the agency's domestic violence program because it not only involves the victims it also involves the staff in the evaluation development and implementation processes. With PEACE being committed to reducing domestic violence and sexual assaults, they can do that by educating the victims and the community. Education will help make a......

Scenario Evaluation Plan

...Scenario Evaluation Plan HSM/270 Scenario Evaluation Plan The purpose of the PEACE Domestic Violence Agency is to promote a sense of security, support, and empowerment for individuals and families who are affected by domestic violence. To continue helping those who suffer from domestic abuse, the PEACE agency will develop an evaluation plan using a simple framework design. This agency wants to assess the work it is performing, and the reason for evaluation is it wants to know the effects its services have on people’s lives. The program wants to improve upon those efforts, but does not want to continue to exert time and resources into efforts which are not helpful. The evaluation plan the PEACE Domestic Violence Agency will use will be a project-wide evaluation using the empowerment approach. This form of evaluation plan will work perfectly with the agency’s domestic violence program because it concentrates on the purpose of the program and provides structure for the big picture. In addition, it involves program staff in the evaluation development and implementation, which enables them to feel empowered. The first step in developing this type of plan is to “identify the answer to the big question” (Yuen & Terao, 2003, p.53) which, in the case of the PEACE agency, is whether or not the incidents of domestic violence can be reduced and how. Another question could be whether or not educating people about domestic violence can play a key role in......
