Boats sailed on the rivers and ships sailed on a sea but clouds that traveled across the sky looked more pretty. There are bridges on the rivers that pleased me that it was extremely pretty. The Rain Bow

...Rainbow (also known as Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow or Blackmore's Rainbow) were an English hard rock band formed in California, controlled by guitarist Ritchie Blackmore from 1975 to 1984 and 1994 to 1997. They were originally established with American blues rock band Elf's members, though over the years Rainbow went through many line-up changes with no two studio albums featuring the same line-up. In addition to lead singers Ronnie James Dio, Graham Bonnet, Joe Lynn Turner and Doogie White, the project consisted of numerous backing musicians. The band started out combining mystical lyric themes with neo-classical metal, but went in a more streamlined commercial style following Dio's departure from the group.[1] Rainbow were ranked No. 90 on VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock.[2] The band has sold over 28 million albums worldwide and 4 million albums in the United States. Why Is the Sky Blue

...credit I am going to talk about the sun and how different polarizer’s work. As I stated above rainbows can come in different forms; to elaborate on this topic I am going to talk about the different types of rainbows. There are primary rainbows, secondary rainbows, spurious rainbows, supernumerary rainbows, fogbows or white rainbows, and lunar rainbows. The main thing that is talked about between primary rainbows and secondary rainbows is that they can be reflected off each other. Simply put a secondary rainbow is a rainbow that is reflected twice of the drop. This means that instead of looking like a normal rainbow that has red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet respectively from the outside in. They are opposite which means that the colors are reversed. Some other the other rainbows are the spurious or supernumerary bows which is a mix of a primary and secondary rainbow. These rainbows are faint in color and are hard to see because they are a mix of a secondary and primary rainbow. Some of the special rainbows that are rarely seen by humans are the lunar rainbows because they are caused by the moonlight. With these rainbows the colors are different than regular rainbows because the light source is the moon. They appear as white and different shades of grey. Now before I start talking about why the sky is blue I want to first talk about each of the seven colors in the rainbow. I hope that this has cleared up any confusion that you had about this subject....

...Amy Cuddy Ted Talk Essentially this Ted Talk explained how a simple change in posture could affect your attitude and outlook on life. Amy Cuddy explains this phenomenon by describing the art of power posing. A power pose is any position in which you present yourself as large and stretched out as possible, in attempts to exude power and feel confident. This is described as being present in the animal kingdom such as a gorilla puffing out its chest or a snake rearing its head. Tests where shown that after power posing for merely two minutes individuals felt more likely to do things such as gamble, due to an increase in testosterone and a decrease in the stress hormone cortisol. Cuddy continues to describe these benefits with practical use such as before a job interview or participating in class. This Ted Talk did present some potent points and it was impressive how only two minutes could create such a drastic change in testosterone and cortisol compared to those individuals who performed low power positions. It did seem slightly exaggerated where it was suggested becoming more powerful can take you through an MBA program at Harvard, but it is definitely a tip that won’t go unnoticed. The fake it till you become it slogan also seemed to strongly resonate due to the fact she was able to back it up with her personal life story about her drastic drop in IQ and fear that where she ended up is a place she was never supposed to be. The overall message was inspiring but......

Contextual Analysis

...the reverse of happiness- not just the happiness of the performer of the action but also that of everyone affected by it. The Rainbow Fish relates to a core notion of basic utilitarianism, the happiness of the group vs. the happiness of the individual. The basic of utilitarian tenets of "The greatest good for the greatest number" and "Maximizing happiness across the population" are easily apparent when reflecting on Rainbow Fish's decision and the consequences (Mill). In the Rainbow Fish's case, theoretically, he was going to be a little less happy if he lost his scales, but as a result his friends will become much happier. In practice, though, giving everyone a scale actually made him even happier. Mill’s theory of maximizing happiness across the population in Utilitarianism explains why Rainbow Fish becomes happier when he shares his scales with the other fish and his perspective of selfishness explains why Rainbow Fish is unhappy at first. In the book, The Rainbow Fish, there is one of the most beautiful fish in the ocean. Unlike all of the other fish, Rainbow Fish had shimmering, colorful scales. He is asked to share one of his shining scales with a little blue fish, and to which he refuses. All the other fish in the sea leave him alone, and he wondered why. He goes to the wise octopus for advice, and she tells him to give away his scales. Rainbow Fish reluctantly does so, except for one. In the end, he is less beautiful then he was before, but he has new friends and is......

Rainbows

...Rainbows can be observed whenever there are water drops in the air and sunlight shining from behind the observer at a low altitude angle. Because of this, rainbows are usually seen in the western sky during the morning and in the eastern sky during the early evening. The most spectacular rainbow displays happen when half the sky is still dark with raining clouds and the observer is at a spot with clear sky in the direction of the sun. The result is a luminous rainbow that contrasts with the darkened background. During such good visibility conditions, the larger but fainter secondary rainbow is often visible. It appears about 10° outside of the primary rainbow, with inverse order of colours. The rainbow effect is also commonly seen near waterfalls or fountains. In addition, the effect can be artificially created by dispersing water droplets into the air during a sunny day. Rarely, a moonbow, lunar rainbow or nighttime rainbow, can be seen on strongly moonlit nights. As human visual perception for colour is poor in low light, moonbows are often perceived to be white.[4] It is difficult to photograph the complete semicircle of a rainbow in one frame, as this would require an angle of view of 84°. For a 35 mm camera, a wide-angle lens with a focal length of 19 mm or less would be required. Now that powerful software for stitching several images into a panorama is available, images of the entire arc and even secondary arcs can be created fairly easily from a series of......

Non-Profit Review

...Spring 2015 Assignment: Not For Profit Balance Sheet Analysis – Rainbows United, Inc. Date: May 6, 2015 Rainbows United was founded in 1972 as a center for children with severe mental and physical disabilities to receive special education that was not available in the public school system. Since their establishment Rainbows has continually been on the forefront of providing adequate services to special needs children and their families. Shortly after Rainbows was founded the legislation adopted a new law requiring that public schools provide a curriculum to all students regardless of their disabilities. As a reaction to the new legislation and preventive measure to ensure their services would still be utilized, Rainbows started focusing on services they could provide to younger children prior to their entry into the public school system. With Rainbows already a step ahead, in the early 1990’s the legislator started requiring special education services to be available to children as young as the age of 3. As the mandated age requirement grew smaller over the years, Rainbows took the lead and assumed the responsibility of providing services to Sedgwick and Butler counties. They now offer services to children birth to 21 years of age. The leadership demonstrated by their progressive thinking is proof of their mission statement and principles. “Rainbows United, Inc. enhances the lives of children with......

Fun in the Purple Rainbow.

...A strong economy is one in which the region or country and its people are becoming more profitable. This means they are producing and earning more money than they spend.   In a strong economy, companies are being formed and expanding, so the number of jobs is growing.   The goods and services the region or country produces are growing in value, so the amount that people earn increases.   In a strong economy, consumers have more money to spend than they would in a weak economy. This means they are more likely to purchase goods and services.   In a weak economy, consumers often spend less money. Companies in a weak economy may compete to offer goods and services at the lowest prices possible.   Next, you'll learn about some ways to tell if an economy is strong or weak. The GDP is one of the most common ways to measure a country's economy.   A country's GDP, or gross domestic product, is the value of the goods and services produced in that country.   When the GDP increases, the economy is growing and becoming stronger. When it decreases, the economy is shrinking and becoming weaker. William Wordsworth's Piece, "The Rainbow,

...William Wordsworth's piece, "The Rainbow," offers an intriguing look into the human soul. Standing at only ten lines, the poem details a journey through Wordsworth's philosophical beliefs. Although it appears simplistic, this poem details many complex ideas. Wordsworth's opening lines explain how: "My heart leaps up when I behold / A rainbow in the sky" (1-2). Wordsworth is overjoyed at nature, a common theme in all of his work, but what's more is that he states: "So was it when my life began; / So it is now I am a man; / So be it when I shall grow old, / Or let me die!" (3-6). As a child, ("when my life began") Wordsworth felt the same way about rainbows and nature as he does now, completely awestruck and in reverence. Moreover, Wordsworth hopes his adoration of nature will continue as he matures, even to his death bed. If not, Wordsworth would rather die prematurely. The last three lines contain one of Wordsworth's most famous phrases: "The Child is father of the Man; / And I could wish my days to be / Bound each to each by natural piety" (7-10). Wordsworth is happy enough to have kept his appreciation of nature and only wishes it will last him forever, in "natural piety." With the line: "The Child is father of the Man", Wordsworth evokes a number of ideas. To start, Wordsworth details how the child is father simply through greatness. The child falls in love with nature as soon as it is born. This admiration is both an inherent trait as well as something to be gained......

The State of the Rainbow Nation

...The State of the Rainbow Nation by Jeff Cangialosi (2012) Following the rest of the crowd, I stood quickly as the South African national anthem began to play. I was about to watch my first rugby game at the University of the Western Cape and sitting beside me was my newest South African friend Francis. As I strained to hear the national anthem, I realized that the majority of the song was not in English but a mixture of other languages that I could not decipher. Sitting back down, I turned to Francis and asked him what languages I had just heard in the national anthem. He responded, “There are five different languages in the song brother…Xhosa, Zulu, Sesotho, Afrikaans, and English…it’s supposed to create unity, but brother, the people here, they are not unified. No one knows the words.” Language is one of the most obvious indicators of the vast diversity of South Africa. The national anthem may be composed of five different languages, but in total, the country has eleven official languages. In Cape Town, Afrikaans, English, and Xhosa are the most widely spoken languages, but as you travel across the country, you encounter many different indigenous languages. In addition to language, another marker of South Africa’s diversity is color. Infamous for its past of apartheid, South Africa is the land of people who are black, white, coloured, and Asian. Making up almost 80% of the population demographic, black South Africans are the largest racial group, but in my......

Domestic demand increased by 3 percent and remained the main growth driver. Private consumption continued to benefit from higher real disposable incomes as a result of improved labor market conditions, relatively strong credit growth to households, and a boost from persistent consumer price declines.
