It is important to know what you believe so you can make the correct decisions in life based on your personal values, and judge the best way to solve problems in your life. It is also important to know what you believe so if questioned you can intelligently address the concern. If you KNOW you can present the inquisitor with facts so they can evaluate them for themselves.

My Beliefs

1.) I believe in God. He is the creator of all things including me. The world and everything in it is so intricate it could not have happened by chance or evolved over billions of years.

2.) I believe the Bible is the word of God. I believe this because the Bible meets the needs of all mankind. If you need comfort, love, forgivness, or faith you can find some verse or chapter to address the need. I also believe the Bible because I have accepted Jesus into my life and have faith that that the Bible is true.

3.) I believe in Jesus Christ. I believe in him also because of faith. Jesus died in order to forgive us of our sins. Just because I cannot see him it does not mean he is not real. No matter what I am going through I know he’s there. If I need healing I pray and believe in him. If I need guidance in making a decision I ask and trust he will guide me. The hard part is to remain patient while waiting for him to show me the answers I seek. While waiting I keep praying to stay close to him. This way I do not stray and follow my own…...

Why I Believe in God

...Believing in God Jehovah J. Michele Jones COM 220 Research Writing July 8, 2012 Karen Halusek Believing in God Jehovah When a person starts talking about religion, most people begin to get upset or walk away from you. Many people do not want to understand or know how someone can start believing in a God that you cannot see, feel, or touch. Everyone is entitled to believe in whoever he or she wants to believe in, just because that person cannot see, does not give the other person the right to say that no one else should. There are so many who find it joyous to get to know God. The ethics in Christianity are all in the Word of God. For many of us, we do not need to put someone else down because of the way they choose to believe. God freely gives us a choice as to whether or not we believe in Him or anything else. The people in the church are not called to deliver hate filled messages to anyone, but to encourage and help them understand that there is better way to truly living their lives. Many Christians want to preach the Gospel in a way that makes God seems as if He hates us, when in fact, it is the total opposite. There are many people who walk on this earth, and they are hurting because of experiences within the church, something happened to him or her as a child, been in bad relationships, etc. Most people highly doubt that God cannot help him or her. The true Christians, those of them that truly believe in a sovereign God, will say that it is not easy living......

Knowing What You Believe

...Why is it important to know what you believe and why you believe it? The importance of knowing what I believe in would give me the optimum confident in my faith; and in order for that to happen I would have to be accurate in my knowledge of beliefs. I would need to know for myself what the truth is in order to speak belief to someone else. I would also have to present a sense of patience in my actions. I do not think that I would convince anyone of my belief if my tone of voice was hostile and abrupt. I feel if a person is calm they would be more substantial and convincing to believe in. Belief, I feel, is a feeling of preciseness and being confident of what is stated; and if there isn’t any confidants; nor knowledge of what we believe in there isn’t a reason of cause. Identify what you believe about God, the Bible and Jesus Christ. Why do you believe them? I know that God is real and that he created me and love me. We all are place on this earth with a purpose that is given by God and without him I believe there is no existent, he is the source for our lives. It is known by me that being separated from God will result in a disastrous life. The Bible I know is philosophic book of words of God, which is written to give us guide lines, of the way that we lived in the past and present. Jesus Christ is the son of God and he gave his life for our sins; I also believe that Jesus Christ rose from the dead. We all have different beliefs about our savior Jesus Christ......

Do You Believe in Magic

...it’s a person who rips off people by learning tricks from You-tube and adding extra pockets to their sleeves. By my age, most kids believed magic to be something that kids believed in, then grew out of when they discovered the opposite gender at about 12 or 14. I believe in magic. I still do. Not the ordinary magic that involves tricks of deceit with white rabbits and doves, though this may sound like a cheesy romantic comedy line or a spiritual guidance line, magic is everywhere. At least to me it is. You can feel it when you’re just in a happy mood, when everything seems to go right. It’s as if the sun is shining brighter on you, the air smells sweeter, nothing anyone says can bring you down, and you’re even able to find that ten dollar bill on the floor. Magic can be the love between two people. The feeling you get when you are with them, love is the most magical thing in the world. Magic is also the relationship of a mother and child is more powerful than any kind of love in the world. She will sacrifice anything for her child. A mother will be your first love, your best friend, your everything. My mom is like no other. She gave me life, nurtured, taught me, dressed me, fought for me, held me, shouted at me, kissed me, but most importantly loved me unconditionally. There are not enough words I can say to describe just how important my mom means to me. That feeling of weightlessness which leaves you floating an inch off the floor all day is magic. There......

What Do You Know About the Cold War?

...is going on. This is what was going on in the beginning of the Cold War just two years after WW2, 1947. Though what do people living during 1960 or even the children of the baby boomers know about the Cold War? I believe that the American Perception of the Cold War is very different from what was going on. The first person I interviewed was my father in law Dan Faris. Dan said “ To know about the Cold War all you have to know about is the Iron Curtain cause they could be synonymous. This is very true the Iron Curtain is defined by the Eastern and Western separation of Europe by Communism. This is what started the Cold War. During the European Financial Collapse people would kling to whatever promises people could make them to get them out of their poverty. Stalin came in and promised a better tomorrow and communism spread. The United States saw this as a threat and they wanted to stop Communism therefore Truman employed Marshall and henceforth Marshall aid was offered to the people in those European countries. Which in turn threatened Stalin. Dan said that this all started in 1957 which is actually not true though since he was born in 1955 may have been what he perceived. All of this actually started in 1945. During these games that the Russians and U.S. was playing with each other soon it turned ugly when bombs were placed in Cuba which was called the Cuban Missile Crisis. Dan’s perception said” I know a lot about this subject and I know it had to do with the Iron......

What You Need to Know About Programming Languages

...details about the various parts. To add these details, design iterations are then included to complete the design. Next up we have a variation of these languages such as: o Procedural Programming Languages Procedural Programming involves a list of operations the program needs to complete to be able to attain the preferred state. It is a simple programming paradigm where every program comes with a starting phase, a list of tasks and operations, and an ending stage. Also called imperative programming, this approach comes with small sections of code that perform certain functions. These sections are made up of procedures, subroutines, or methods. A procedure is made up of a list of computations that should be done. Procedural programming lets a part of the code to be used again without the need to make several copies. It achieves this by dividing programmatic tasks into small sections. Because of this, programmers are also capable of maintaining and understanding program structure. Among the known procedural languages are BASIC and FORTRAN. These are the different types of computer programming languages that you can consider when planning to make a computer program. Procedural programming splits the program's source code into smaller fragments. Structured languages require more constraints in the flow and organization of programs. And object-oriented programs arrange codes and data structures into objects. To learn more about computer programming, including how you can......

...stuck, unhappy, and have no idea what to do about it, except move to another job. Mary Lyn Miller, veteran career consultant and founder of the Life and Career Clinic, says that when most people are unhappy about their work, their first thought is to get a different job. Instead, Miller suggests looking at the possibility of a different life. Through her book, "8 Myths of Making a Living," as well as workshops, seminars and personal coaching and consulting, she has helped thousand of dissatisfied workers re-assess life and work. Like the way of Zen, which includes understanding of oneself as one really is, Miller encourages job seekers and those dissatisfied with work or life to examine their beliefs about work and recognize that, "in many cases your beliefs are what brought you to where you are today." You may have been raised to think that women were best at nurturing and caring and, therefore, should be teachers and nurses. So that's what you did. Or, perhaps you were brought up to believe that you should do what your father did, so you have taken over the family business, or become a dentist "just like dad." If this sounds familiar, it's probably time to look at the new possibilities for your future. Miller developed a 7-step process to help potential job seekers assess their current situation and beliefs, identify their real passion, and start on a journey that allows them pursue their passion through work. ‘Most Comedies Can Be Criticised for a Lack of Seriousness’. to What Extent Do You Believe This to Be the Case in the Play ‘Much Ado About Nothing’?

...‘Most comedies can be criticised for a lack of seriousness’. To what extent do you believe this to be the case in the play ‘Much Ado About Nothing’? ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ contains comedy throughout but it could be argued that seriousness is present in equal measure. They are portrayed simultaneously by Shakespeare in his play: where one scene is comedic to one part of the audience, seriousness could be interpreted by others. The writer uses comedy not only to entertain but to portray and challenge concepts of gender, class and other norms dominant in Shakespearean times but also remain evident in contemporary society. He also uses a leading male and female character to construct this gender challenge, with a woman who will not marry until ‘God make men of some other metal than earth’ and a man she refers to as ‘no less than a stuffed man’. The forwardness with these lines are delivered in contrast with the passive expectations an Elizabethan audience would expect from the leading female, however comedy remains as the moment is unexpected. Furthermore, class and status issues can be identified in the play, an obvious example being the Prince’s brother a ‘bastard’, marginalised from society because of who he is, and a ‘watchman’ who is described as an ‘ass’. Through their comedic interchange of insults, two of Shakespeare’s main characters demonstrate the negative impact of gender issues in Elizabethan times. Benedick and Beatrice are constantly sparring with each other,......

Important to Know What You Believe

...Why is it important to know what you believe and why believe it. The best way to be successful is to believe in you, and know that God is a keeper to those who believe. For I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him. (2 Timothy 1:12 KJV). Believe is a verb that means to have confidence in the truth. What I Believe

...I believe that this book Christianity 101, as its catchy title shows, purports to be a textbook of basic theology, and in all fairness there are some doctrines in there that are evangelical and orthodox. However, it soon becomes clear that is more a vehicle to convey the hermeneutic. In an ironic way, therefore, I agree with Bill Hybels’ verdict: However Christianity 101 is organized according to eight chapters reflecting, innocuously enough, the author’s “eight basic Christian beliefs”: I believe the true revelation of God reveals himself in two ways these are called general revelation and Special revelation each one is explained to different but obtained from God in a roundabout way revelation. God in nature speaks of the lover that one have of God’s creation the Author of Revelation and the giver of the vision to the apostle John (Revelation 1:1). As such, He concludes the book with a confirmation of His testimony to the finality of the prophecies contained in Revelation. These are His words, and He warns against distorting them in any way, whether through additions, subtractions, falsifications, alterations, or intentional misinterpretations. The warning is explicit and dire. The plagues of Revelation will be visited upon anyone guilty of tampering in any way with the revelations in the book, and those who dare to do so will have no part in eternal life in heaven. Each of the areas of general revelation deserves to be closely examined and appropriately interpreted.......

Why I Believe in the Deity of Christ

...Why I Believe in The Deity Of Christ If I were asked why I believe in the deity of Christ my initial response would be because the Bible clearly and unequivocally describes Christ as divine. This was my belief prior to my reading assignments and I now believe that with a new level of certainty.Actually all of the reading assignments took me back to my firm belief in the Bible and the truth contained in it. First of all, I agree with the church's historical belief that "Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man in one person, and will be so forever." Reading in the Allison text about all of the challenges to this belief was both inspiring and troubling. Inspiring because each heretical line of thought was defeated. Troubling because the challenges kept coming, and they still do today. I would point out to the person questioning the deity of Christ how the great thinkers of each time eventually came back to the original premise for Christ's deity. From Docetism in the early church to the challenge by John Hicks in his book "The Myth of the Incarnate" in the modern period, a scholarly review of the scriptures show the deficiencies in every challenge.I would also point out how many of the challengers slightly altered truth and without a thorough study of the Bible, it would be easy to be deceived. A great evaluation of the evidence given in scripture for the deity of Christ was done by Bowman and Komoszewski. I really enjoyed the book "Putting Jesus In His Place" and will...

What You Know About This

...Dorothy Robinson Culture and Society May 13, 2012 Wendell Johnson The social situation that I would like to address in this essay is the problem of crime in our society. We all know that crime is on the rise, most likely due to inequalities in race, education, social class, skills, financial status, and religious beliefs and values. Of course, both functionalists and conflict theorists are marco-level, but have differing views on the reasons for, and reactions to, crime in our society today. Interactionist on the other had is micro-level, meaning it is not that useful to the world. Functionalists believe that crime is important for a society. Crime shows other member of the society what is right and wrong. Social agreement decides how right and wrong is determined. Crime can lead to social change, say functionalists, because the existence of crime proves to the people in the society that the government does not overly control the citizens. Crime can also help the economy of a society by creating jobs for law enforcement officers, psychiatrists, and probation officers. However, even in a functionalist society, too much crime can be bad for the group, causing it to lose the standard harmony and ultimately causing the society to failure. Also it is suggested that the existence of crime is functional in its ability to gather families and communities together for a common purpose. Conflict theorists feel that crime is products of a struggle for power and control.......
