Part 1: Exams

Artifact 1 is the test over unit 1. This artifact consists of matching, multiple choice, fill in the chart, short answer, fill in the blank, and an essay. The test covers the characteristics of ancient civilizations and facts on the civilizations themselves. The religion of each civilization is examined and gods are compared. This comparison is present in some multiply choice questions about each culture and it's most powerful gods. There is also a chart matching a Greek god to it's Roman counterpart and a section where a god is matched to it's description. In this artifact writing style of different civilizations are examined. There is a small portion covering terms and geography as well as jobs and social classes. In this artifact the student was given three pictures of different types of columns and asked to classify each as Doric, Ionic, or Corinthian. The purpose of this unit was to teach the students about the origins of many cultures as well as provide general insight into past civilizations and their characteristics. This artifact was given on October 4th, 2012.
Artifact 2 is Unit 3 and 4 test. This test covers revolutions and philosophers. The enlightenment philosophers are tested over in a matching portion of the test. The revolutions are examined in the multiply choice section and short answer section. In a chart…...

There was a big change in the way that classes of people were treated; Stalin cared much less about women than the previous leader and he aimed to increase profits through industry for the already wealthy elite and the military (Goff, 2008). During this time he promoted education which would reinforce the values of hard work and discipline, but did very little for the people who worked just as hard as others, the farmers. They were living in poverty. I think that the only difference between Stalin and Hitler here is that Stalin's goals were centered around earning more wealth and making people more productive, though at the expense of certain classes' qualities of life. ...Veronica Asidi Modern World History French Troops in Mali (January 11, 2013) The event I choose was about the French troops arriving in Mali to stem rebel advance. This took place in Mali, in West Africa. French troops have arrived in Mali to help within the country, where Islamist groups and most terrorists like the Al-Qaida are continuing to clash with the army for control of the desert in the north. The French President, François Hollande, announced this event on January 11th, saying French armed forces had come to the aid of Mali troops on the ground. “France was ‘ready to stop the terrorists' advance if it continues,” Hollande said, in a speech he made earlier to the country's diplomatic corps. “I have decided that France will respond, alongside our African partners, to the request from the Malian authorities.
